The Tiniest Dragon

Chapter 4: Little human

"You're right!" Exclaimed himself Matt looking at how quickly Elyse ate the first piece of meat.

"I thought she would never try it. It's usually faster!" Said Tess relieved.

"At least she likes pork".

"That's very good, little girl. Take your time, you will stay here all day so no hurry".

'I don't want to hurry, I want to leave' Thought Elyse before taking another bite. Even if she was scared, the meat was really good and it didn't took long until she started to eat it bite after bite until she finished the slice, catching it almost directly into Tess's fingers.

"So pork is okay. Next is the lamb" Said Matt giving another slice to Tess.

"Come on girl. What do you think about this one?"

For Elyse it was as good as pork but she was starting to have others suspicions. 'Why are they feeding me? They don't want to eat me right?' She thought with horror before trying the lamb.

"Lamb is good too. Hand me the mouse" Asked Tess.

Matt gave it to her and placed it in front of Elyse. It was dead and not from too long ago so Elyse had some doubts, she wasn't a scavenger but she already ate worse before so she caught the mouse and ate it quickly with a few bites.

"Mouses are also good. That's really good. Let's try the cow and that should be it".

She grabbed the piece of meat and handed it over to Elyse that started eating it. Thankfully there wasn't much meat on this one as she was almost full after that.

"Isn't it wonderful? I'm feeding a dragon!" Said Tess realizing what she had done.

"Yeah. What should we do with her now? Marcus won't arrive before a week and I don't want anyone else to know, it would do more harm than good" Said Matt.

"Can't we tell Warren? I'm sure he would love her".

"I'd... rather wait for that. It's still a wild dragon, I don't think it's a good idea right now but if we can tame her a bit then why not".

"He's going to be so surprised!" She chuckled.

"For sure. Let's give her some water and then we will let her rest" He said taking the small bowl in front of Elyse, keeping an eye on her mouth close for the moment.

He placed it right in front of her, a very flat bowl that didn't required her to raised her head too high. Elyse was starting to be a bit thirsty and dipped her snout inside to drink while looking at Matt still very close.

"Do we put the muzzle back on?" Asked Tess.

"I don't know. Sure it would be safer but I don't want to put it any longer than necessary. As long as we keep it attached I think the muzzle is unnecessary" Replied Matt.

"Okay. Don't burn me okay" Said Tess before passing in front of Elyse who just stood there watching and hissing as her foot passed right next to her.

"God she is really mad".

"Yeah, let's come back later. I'll tell Warren not to come in the reserve for today" Tess said as she closed the door of the cage, leaving only the little bowl of water next to Elyse.

They both left the room, finally leaving Elyse alone with the birds. Now that she ate and didn't had anymore the muzzle, she began to shake herself and trying to remove the straps on her with her claws. 'I need to get out' She thought reaching the strap on her neck with her forelegs, trying to cut it one attempt after the other. It was hard because she was stuck to the ground so she tried to attack the strap on her back with her hind legs but it was as hard and her claws didn't seemed to affect her bonds, at her unpleasant surprise. She tried for a long time before she heard someone coming, scaring her as she tried even harder to break the straps.
