Dream POV

—————————

Our agency was a subcategory to L'manberg's national guard, established by Wilbur, called Special Ops. Our job was to deal with the problems caused by different packs led by pissed off alphas throughout the country. They never disappointed us, always onto something illegal considering they didn't want to abide by the new laws, and since they were breaking laws already not following the new laws, they broke the old ones too. Getting involved with all kinds of criminal activities.

We had different teams in the force, starting from the rookies that dealt with more common crimes like small gang fights, to the teams that dealt with big packs, their deals, omega traffickings, and stuff like that. The team names were a reminder to the entire force that above all we didn't go by biological ranks, since the lowest rank in the force was the Alpha team. Beta was next but they were more of a tactical team, not field agents. Omega was next, which was usually more of a united force between two or more teams working on a case together. The last unit was Gamma (honestly feel like they rolled a dice for this) which was the field agents with the most skills, getting called for the biggest cases.

Sapnap and I were both Gamma agents.

We entered the lobby and I slightly waved to our receptionist, who was a female beta with ginger hair, pale skin, and cute freckles around her nose: "hey Sally." She smiled at me: "hey Dream. Captain wants to see you in her office. You too, Sapnap." Sapnap whined: "oh man, why me?!" I chuckled: "how do you even know she's mad?"

-it's you we're talking about Dream! When was the last time she called you in to give you a pat on the back?!

I pressed the button of the elevator at the far end part of the lobby and leaned on the wall next to the door, shoving my hands in my pockets and shrugging: "I mean I did a good job on the last week's mission, she was happy."

-dude you haven't actually thrown a case for ages! She just always have problems with the way you do things!" I hummed, looking up at nothing specific and thinking: "you think she's mad that I beat up that alpha?"

-you beat up an alpha?

Her curious but firm voice came from the elevator, but I couldn't see her from where I was and she couldn't see me. It was captain Ximena. I quietly groaned and turned facing the wall flat, hitting my head and fist on the wall comically in frustration.

Sapnap who was standing right in front of the elevator door and was face to face with captain and could see me was trying so hard to hold his laugh in, and failing. I heard the captain's voice again: "Dream, stop goofing around and get in the elevator, I came down to ask where you guys were so this is actually great timing." I got away from the wall, walking inside the elevator alongside Sapnap with a wide innocent smile: "Hiii captain how are you today? May I just say you look astonishing!"

She raised an eyebrow and gave me a death stare with her sky blue eyes. Her violet wavy hair that was usually in a firm ponytail was flowing around her freely, almost reaching her waist: "so, who did you beat up?" she pressed the button for the 3rd floor which was for the Gamma unit. I shrugged: "come on captain it wasn't important." She was a beta, and she barely reached my chest height but damn she looked so intimidating when she wanted to. I almost shrunk under her gaze: "Dream." Her firm voice left no place for joking around: "it was one of the alphas that were holding those girls hostage. I'm sorry captain I got angry and lost it for a second."
