Elora's POV
"ELORA, pansinin mo naman ako!"
From my phone, I looked up to Karina. She was wearing a bright yellow dress which didn't suit the frown on her face. Her lips were pursed while she crossed her arms.
"Looks good on you," I praised her right away.
Sumimangot siya lalo bago ibinagsak ang mga kamay sa magkabilang-gilid. "Kanina pa ako nagsasalita pero hindi mo ako pinapansin," sabi niya. "This is already the third dress I tried on."
I smiled to assure her. "Alam ko. I saw you wear the other two."
Although I was so busy with my phone, I was still paying attention to her. Hindi ko lang talaga mabiti-bitiwan ang aking cellphone. As usual, I was having an interesting conversation with Elrond. I couldn't stop myself from replying.
"Sino ba kasi 'yang kausap mo?" Hindi niya na napigilan ang sariling magtanong. "Napapansin kong madalas kang may kausap sa phone. Sobrang nangingiti ka pa. Are you interested in someone?"
With a guilty smile, I avoided her question by going through the white and red dresses she tried a few moments ago. I picked up the red one and showed that to her.
"This one's better," I voiced out my opinion.
Naningkit ang kanyang mga mata. "You're obviously trying to avoid my question," paghihinala niya ngunit kinuha niya pa rin ang napili kong dress. "Pasalamat ka at ito rin ang pinakagusto ko sa tatlo. Magpapalit na ako. Ayan na ba ang isusuot mo?" Pinasadahan niya ng tingin ang aking suot.
I was wearing a black halter top with sequins, paired with white skinny jeans. I didn't bother dressing up too much because I wasn't really an invited guest.
"Yes," I simply answered.
Ngumuso niya. It was obvious in her expression that she wasn't satisfied with how I dressed. Mabilis niya akong tinalikuran at may hinanap sa kanyang wardrobe.
Not long after, she presented a black dress with almost the same style as my top. It was a sparkling black halter dress with a plunging neckline. Itinapat niya iyon sa aking katawan at saka tumango-tango.
"You should wear this instead," she said and handed that over to me.
"But I'm already fine with my outfit," I told her.
Karina shook her head in dissatisfaction. "We are attending a party so you should dress up," she explained. "Also, Jack invited his colleagues. Some of his cousins and his older brother are also single. I asked him to introduce you to a trustworthy man."
My eyes shot wide open in shock. I was suddenly dumbfounded. "Ha?"
"Ipapakilala lang naman kaya huwag kang kabahan," paglilinaw niya. "It's up to you if you want to keep in touch."
