Rosalie Lilian Hale. A girl who born in early 1915 in Rochester, New York. She has two younger brothers, a housewife for a mother and a father who works at a bank. In October of this year, already nine million Americans were out of work. Her father's work helped keep the family wealthy during the Great Depression.
She was born beautiful and constantly praised, making her vain and self-centered as a result. Her parents took pride in her looks, feeling their self-esteem was highly regarded for her beauty. But Rosalie is blind to see all but the attention she gets.
She also enjoyed her father’s pleasure of being able to buy beautiful and quality ones, feeling proud of the envy of her other female friends, and the admiration of every man she passes. The result of the attention she gets has made her a materialistic, and self-absorbed person.
However, unlike her social-climbing parents, who always wanted more despite their already elevated status, she was already quite happy knowing that she was Rosalie Hale, she was very beautiful. Enough to know that she was Rosalie Hale, the girl coveted by many.
She who is still 16 years old still does not know the meaning of love but in loves with the idea of love. Even with the wealth she had now, she knew it wouldn’t be on par with love. Many gentlemen tried to approach her, trying their luck. Yet her hopes of trying to love were dashed with just one look given to her by her parents.
She was even banned by her parents even just to approach, let alone talk with men they didn’t know. As a result, Rosalie has female friends who are relentlessly envy of her. Vera, her only best friend is was already engaged to a man who is also the only male friend she has. It's a lie if she says she's not jealous of the sweet moments she always sees when they're both together.
Yet really she didn’t believe she would be attracted to another girl, who had just moved to Rochester, a girl with a foreign name. For the first time her heart was pounding to say, there was another girl more beautiful than her in Rochester!
Megan Celeste Rivera. She is an 18 years old brunette with gray eyes inherited from her mother. Herself is the opposite of Rosalie even though her mother also works at the bank like Mr.Hale. Although only two days moved there, those days were filled with conversations of people around her about a girl who is said to be very beautiful, namely Rosalie Hale.
Her life can be said to be more fortunate and luxurious as her mother who works in the bank only supports the two of them, there are no siblings and no father who has passed away. She is very proud of her mother despite being a single mother still able to defend her job at the moment.
Because of that, the wealth and luxuries that her mother acquired was used as best as possible. Every effort is made not to be too complacent even though the net wealth they have will never end as the property left by her father is still there. She guesses her move with her mother here from Manhattan will change their life, whether well or not, they will live it.
