The loud thunderous boom and the ringing in my ears is what woke me up. As soon as my eyes opened I flung myself out of bed almost tripping over my blankets. I became eerily aware of the bellowing smoke that was coming in from underneath my door, it was making it increasingly hard to breath as I choked and gagged attempting to inhale.

I ran across the room to my door trying to open it. The handle was to hot and it burned an imprint of it into my hand. There were no flames to be seen but it didn't take a genius to figure out that our house was on fire. The smoke danced violently towards me as I threw the inside of my elbow around my mouth trying not to breath it in.

The frantic screaming of my brother calling my name brought me out of my fire induced coma. Thankfully his room was right next to mine.

I opened my mouth to try and call out for him but I just ended up coughing and hacking up a lung. I ran over to my bed, grabbed my blanket and tossed it over my head allowing me to breath in deep without intoxicating smoke filling my lungs.

"I can't get out. The door knob, it's to hot for me to touch and the video we seen at school about fire safety said not to open a door if the handle is hot because you can feed the fire and make it worse."

"Just stay there okay. I'm coming to get you." He yelled through the wall. Knowing him the first thing he did was put his blanket over his head. He was always the one to remain calm in bad situations.

I peeled the blanket from my head and took in my surroundings when I heard sirens coming from a distance. By now I had tears streaming down my face, wondering if we were going to get out of here alive.

I looked towards the window when I heard the breaking of glass. My brother crawled in a second later. Coming up to me he unexpectedly threw me over his shoulder and moved back en route to the window he previously came crashing into, mumbling something about my damn window always being stuck shut. The next thing I know he jumps out the window and I let out an ear piercing scream.

"My, Mya." I hear someone shouting at me. Their voice was muffled, sounding like they was underwater.

My eyes flew open and I hurled myself upright. My brother sat on the side of my bed, looking at me expectantly. I looked over at my clock to see it was only six in the morning. "Pacey what the hell are you doing up so early? Go back to sleep." I groaned falling back onto my bed.

"Someones at the door."

"It's probably just the UPS person, dropping off some stuff I ordered."

"I'm not a moron My, I looked in the driveway and there's no UPS truck out there."

I pulled myself out of bed and threw on a pair of sweatpants, over top of my boy shorts. "Stay here. I'm going to go check it out."

"Yeah right. In what universe would I let you go down there by yourself?" He deadpanned with a roll of his eyes.

"Fine. Just stay behind me." And with that, I began to marching towards the the front door. Surely no one has found us yet. I mean we literaly just got here.

Looking in the peephole I noticed a nicley dressed man standing at front of our house. He doesn't look like a hitman, then again I don't really know what a hitman would look like. Undoing the locks I opened the door.

The air left my lungs, the minute I looked into the eyes of the most gorgeous man I have ever seen. I mean instantaneously intoxocated, heartbreakingly gorgeous. His sun kissed skin, long thick lashes, short messy dark brown hair, full lips and the most beautiful pair of amber eyes peering down at me. I couldn't help but glance downward taking in his entire ruggedly athletic body. I'm not going to lie, I think my lady parts just gushed.
