"Is there a problem here?" One of the bouncers asked. He showed up right before Reid could throw a punch at Adam.
"No, no problem. We were just leaving." Reid seethed into Adam's face.
Grabbing my hand he pulled me along with him through the horde of people.
"I need to find Kira." I yelled out over the loud booming music.
He swivled around staring at me intently. "Alright. Go find your friend and let het know you are leaving. I'll wait for you outside by my car."
"Okay." I nodded.
I should have listened to the universe and stayed home. But no, I had to have my night out, and now, now, I was wondering through a mass of sweaty bodies trying to locate Kira.
Should I even be doing this? In therory, having Reid drive me home sounds like a good idea but, what if he makes a move? Will I have the willpower to stop him? Will it be a one night stand or will he want more?
I finally spot Kira with her back to the wall and her tongue shoved down some dudes throat. He has an incredible backside, I'll give her that. I hate to interrupt them but, I have to tell her I'm leaving. I reach around the guy and tap her on the shoulder. Her eyes immediately fly open and notice me. She tugs herself away from him and when he turns around a wave of apprehension washes over me.
There standing before me, was Hunter, the infamous flirt and co-worker of the man who was about to take me home. Shit, this is bad. I cannot let anyone know that I am going home with him. I'm not stupid, I know how fast gossip spreads in small towns. If one person got wind of what I was about to do, then in a matter of a few days not only would the whole town know that I left with Reid but, Pacey would find out as well and I can't let that happen.
"Hey Mya." He winked.
I smiled politely. "Hi Hunter."
Kira stepped forward looking a bit confused. "Wait you two know each other?"
"Yeah, we met a couple of weeks ago." Hunter announced.
"It's a long story." I stated glancing over at her. "Anyway, would you mind if I steal her away for a minute?" I asked taking her by the arm and pulling her away, not bothering to wait for his reply.
I found a secluded spot off to the side and whirled around to face her. She eyed me suspiciously. "Alright girl, what is going on with you?"
I didn't even think about what I was going to tell her before I so gallantly drug her away from her ravenous tryst. Come on Mya think, use that little alcohol inducted brain of yours. Oh, oh I got it. "I called to check in with Pacey and he isn't answering his phone so I have to go home and make sure he's okay." It's not a complete lie. The little shit has yet to reply to any of my texts.
"Okay, let's go round up the girls and then we can go." She turned to move away and before I knew what I was doing I snatched her up by her arm and lugged her back to me.
"No." I shouted a tad bit too loud. "I mean, I don't want to ruin everyone's fun because my irresponsible teenage brother can't answer his phone. I'll just call an Uber to take me home."
Her perfectly shaped eyebrow raised. "Are you sure, cause I don't mind at all if you need me to come with."
"Yeah, no, I'm sure. You guys have fun and I will call you tomorrow."
She leaned in and gave me a tight squeeze. "Be careful and you better call me."
"I will." I shouted over my shoulder.
The further I walked, the closer I was getting to him and the more I was kicking myself in the ass for agreeing to this.
He's leaning against the passenger side of his car with his arms crossed and his left leg kicked out, looking like he was posing for a freaking photo shoot. I stopped about a foot in front of him. I look into his topaz eyes as he stares back at me with a smug grin. The egotistical jerk knows what he does to me and I swear he's getting off on it.
