"Remind me again who's bright idea this was." Pacey complained for the fifth time since we set out on our adventures excursion through the Acadia National Park. Declan and Wyatt putting their two cents in along side of him.

Kira had somehow convinced me to accompany her on a peaceful getaway to her Uncle's cabin for the weekend. What she failed to mention until we got here was that it was an hour long trek to get to this elusive cabin.

"I don't want to hear it. Nobody forced your happy butt's to come." Kira shot back.

"Did you actually think I was going to let my sister come all the way out here without me? I can see the headlines now. The two missing hikers were found dead today. Local police and animal wildlife rangers say they were mauled by a bear."

"The two of you need us big strong men to protect you." Wyatt chimed in.

"Dude if you seen a bear you'd probably throw one of us in front of you as an offering and take off running and screaming like a little girl." Declan teased not holding back his laughter.

"Whatever man. I know your ass would be bear kibble for the simple fact that all of us here could outrun you."

I knew Pacey would be board out of his mind with just Kira and me up here for the weekend so, I agreed to let them tag along. I was ultimately regretting my decision at this point. "No one is getting eating by anything so drop it already." I sighed.

"Are we there yet?" Wyatt whined from behind me.

"You would think for being a teenage boy you would have better stamina and endurance." I noted.

"Yeah well, I don't get the suggested daily exercise because I like to sit on my ass in my free time playing video games."

"Were almost there, stop whining." Kira scolded.

She called me when she was finished wrapping up the blood drive and I explained to her what happened between Reid and I. As always she was completly understanding of my situation. At work on Monday she offered up the suggestion of some R&R in a secluded cabin in the woods during the up coming weekend. I thought it would be a perfect way to clear my head and not have to think about anything. The second I told Pacey of our plans he demanded to come along saying and I quote 'There is no way in hell you are going up in the mountians, in the middle of nowhere without me.'

As we ambled along the uneven worn down path I couldn't help but take in my surroundings. The trees were veiled in the thickest of mists, their trunks sombre brown with sable cracks that gnarl the bark. My eyes travel throughout the woodland, observing how they become silhouettes against a blanket of white, as if it is only daylight where we stand, as though we are encircled by the fog surrounding us. The smell of the damp trees reminding me how much I miss being outdoors.

Our parents used to take us on camping trips at least twice a year. We would never stay in the same spot though. They wanted us to experiance the world and everything it had to offer us. Dad would always tease mom and I about how much luggage we would bring on our trips. Mom used to say that 'He doesn't understand what it takes for a women to look as good as we do.'

I adjusted my full to the brim backpack weighing down on my slender shoulders just as we reached a small clearing. There was a decent sized rundown cabin nestled in the trees. The scenery around us is beautiful, serene and quite, with the ocasional bird chirping about. I could taste the purity of the crisp late afternoon air and the freshly cut wood stacked neatly underneath a makeshift tarp on the side of the cabin.

With a substantial amount of joy developing with in me, I strolled towards the cabin following next to Kira. I was looking forward to spending two nights and three days away from the hustle and bustle of my daily life. Approching the little abode, she pulled a key from her pocket and unlocked the door. The creaking of the door echoed in the space around us, reminding me of a cheesy horror movie. As we entered through the doorway we all dropped our backpacks in the corner of what I am assuming is the living room, kitchen and dinning room all wrapped up into one.
