Part 13 (Dawson's and Danielle's POV this chapter, a month later, 31 days until they leave)

Dawson's POV

Lauren an I have been together for almost a month already an sadly I leave at the end of this month and I'm not ready. We have been on little dates, for some reason I'm not allowed at her house no more probably because her parents are never home but today it's just me home since Dad is working, Mom is grocery shopping with Eli and Sam's with Logan an Evan. I decided I would sneak over to Lauren's to surprise her because she deserves, I slipped on my sneakers and texted her asking if she was home in which she replied with a yes making me smile. I walked out of the apartment locking it leaving the key under the mat before leaving. I picked some flowers along the way to her house leaving me with about like 10 flowers, I got to her front door an knocked after seeing a car in the drive way that I haven't seen before. I knew it wasn't her parents because they drive a blue car and this one was like red but looked like a rich man's car. the door opened and I saw him.. the man mom told us to stay away from, he was standing in her house.. why was he in her house?!

R- you good dude? you look like you saw a ghost.

he had a smirk on his face that made me feel so uneasy

Da- w-where's Lauren?

R- in the back yard during yard work, come on I will bring you to her

I was hesitant to follow him but I did, he lead me to her back yard and sure enough she pulling weeds out of her garden

R- Lauren!

she looked up at him with a smile an saw me, she immediately got up an ran over gulfing me in a hug

L- I didn't know you were coming!

Da- I uh wanted to surprise you

I gave her the flowers an she smiled more kissing me a quick peck on the lips

L- I see you met my cousin Rick, he's staying with me for the rest of the month since my parents are away on business

my heart was racing, what was my mom gonna say? my girlfriend is related to the guy that practically tried murdering her.. my phone started to buzz causing me to look at it an see my mom calling, I declined it an looked at Lauren 

L- you should probably go because she cuts your head off

I nodded with a chuckle before giving her a kiss on the cheek, Rick followed me out the front door an he didn't get rid of the smirk on his face

R- your mom hasn't changed one bit huh?

I stopped dead in my tracks an turned to him

Da- no she hasn't. 

you could hear the bitterness in my voice, he chuckled and leaned on the door frame

R- I'm guessing she told you about me?

Da- I know it all. you disgust me an I don't want you alone with Lauren

R- don't worry kid, I won't touch Lauren but your mom on the other hand might wanna watch out.

I scuffed an flipped him off before walking away to my apartment after feeling my phone buzz for the 10th time. I walked inside the apartment to see my mom on the phone talking as if she was worried

Da- mom?

she looked at me an let out a sigh that was a relief sigh before hanging up the phone

D- where the hell have you been?! I have called you and texted you, I came home and you were gone! no note nothing!
