FIRST PERSON
"Weasley! Weasley! Weasley!" The Gryffindors around me cheered over the music filling the Common Room.

Ron stood in the middle of the room, happily smiling at all the attention he was receiving.

"You really shouldn't have done it." Hermione said to Harry who was stood on my right.

"I know." Harry replied, his deep voice making me turn to them, "I s'ppose I could have just used a Confundus Charm." He turned to look at Hermione.

"That was different," Hermione insisted, "That was tryouts- This was an actual game."

I reached into Harry's flannel pocket located on his chest, pulling a vile out, "He didn't use it." I told her, surprised she didn't know.

"How'd you know-"

"It was obvious." I chuckled and gave him the bottle back.

Harry grinned and the three of us turned our attention back to Ron. Lavender pulled him closer to her, happily kissing him and having no regrets.

I turned to Hermione, knowing she felt uncomfortable. Unfortunately, they just kept on going. I stepped behind Hermione to pull her away but, someone interrupted me.

"Have you seen Trevor?" Neville tapped on my shoulder as Hermione walked out.

"No, but i'll help you find him." I kindly responded and began to look around the room for Neville's frog.

HARRY'S POV
Hermione caught my attention as she left the party, very upset about Ron and Lavender. She was crying, sat on a small set of steps alone.

I noticed the birds surrounding her head as I approached her, "Charms spell." She sniffled after noticing me, "I'm just practicing.."

"Well, they're really good." I attempted to cheer her up as I sat down.

"How did it feel, Harry.." I turned to her as she began to talk, "Seeing Y/N with Draco?"

"It.." I tried to answer her question.

"Every time you see her with someone else you can't bare it," She smiled but continued to cry, "You think she doesn't feel the same way you do.."

I shook my head to deny it, "What.."

Hermione wiped away a tear, "You're my best friend. I realize you assume she doesn't love you back."

Then I turned away from her, trying to avoid the weight of that word.

"Oh, erm.." I looked down and fiddled with my fingers, laughing quietly to defuse the awkwardness.

"I know." Hermione mimicked my actions, "I can tell by the way you look at her. You've never looked at anyone else the same way," She glanced at the ground before looking at me, "Because you're in love with her."

She was right.

(Hey Siri, play Almost is Never Enough by Ariana Grande.. No but really)

But, Y/N couldn't possibly be in love in return. This entire thing is temporary for her. And I feel that deep within my heart it'll end. She'll find someone better, someone she truly deserves. Because she deserves the best.
