"Now that is a first. Of course, you can have both, you would have to pay for both of them though." the lady said as she grabbed a card keychain and a card. She scanned both of them. "Alright, now I need you to sign the back of the card and you will have to pay thirty dollars..... twenty for the card and ten for the keychain." the lady said.
I nodded my head as I grabbed the permanent marker that she is handing to me. I signed the back of the card where she told me to. Once I was done signing the back of the card, I put the cap on the marker that I used before handing it back to the lady that is behind the counter. I grabbed my wallet before opening it up. I grabbed thirty dollars and gave it to the lady. I grabbed the card that I had signed. I put it in my wallet before I put the card away. I put my wallet back into my pocket before I grabbed the keychain.
"You know, it's always nice to see young kids like you here. It makes me know that there are some kids that still love to read." the lady said. I smiled as I put the keychain into the pocket with my deck of cards. I thanked the lady before I turned around and walked towards the door.
I walked right out of the library and to my luck across the street is the driver who drove me here is standing by a shop, talking to the man that has been watching me since I left the park.
The guy from the park pointed in my way making the man who drove me, look over towards me. He gave me a wave. I stepped to the right before I walked down the sidewalk. What is up with that guy? Why in the world is he having people follow me?
I tried my hardest to get away from the butcher shop that both the creepy guys are outside of. I took a deep breath before I walked towards one of the busy streets. When I walked past one of the many people, I slipped my hand into his pocket. I pulled my hand out and was about to put his wallet into my pocket when someone yelled at me. I started to run the other way, which is making me run closer to the butcher shop. I weaved in and out of the people.
I put the man's wallet in my pocket. I looked behind me to see that the man is chasing me. I looked ahead as I tried running even faster. I yelped as someone grabbed the hook or the handle on my bag. I was pulled into an aisle, away from everyone's sight.
I was pushed against the wall. I stared at the man that is holding me up to the wall. "Where's my wallet?" He yelled at me. I flinched at his tone. I do not like it when people yell at me like he is now. I didn't answer him. I was about to grab his wallet to give it back to him, but he punched me. I started to feel anger.......no pissed. Well, I have never felt this way before.
I turned and looked at him. He looked at me with a scared look on his face. I pushed him off of me, making him fall to the ground.
I walked over to him. I climbed on top of him before I punched him. He looked at me before I punched him again. I was about to punch him again but someone grabbed my fist. I looked at the person who was holding my fist only to see the man who drove me here. "Easy their tiger," he said, not even scared of me like the man that was chasing me.
All of a sudden, I felt calmer than before. I didn't seem to be clouded with rage. I took a few deep breaths before I climbed off the man that I was running from. I looked down at him only to see all the blood that is covering his face.
I fell backwards before I crawled as fast as I could away from the man. "Hey, it's okay." the man who stopped me from killing the other man said. I hit the wall making me stop. I have never hurt someone. I thought I never would. Why did I almost kill the man? The driver walked over to me. "It's okay. Why don't you come with us? I can tell you are hunger and I have answers to the questions that I'm guessing you have about what just happened." the driver said.
I looked at him before my eyes landed on the man I was punching. "I'm Blaine, by the way." the driver said as he held his hand out. I looked at him before I got up from the ground, without grabbing his hand.
He let his hand fall to his side. "Julian, please take care of him," Blaine said as he pointed at the man that is on the ground. I looked at the man that is on the ground before I looked at the man that is standing a little way to the right of Blaine. The man, Julian, nodded his head before he picked the man on the ground up. "You hungry?" Blaine asked making me look back at him.
"I own a butcher shop that is across the street. Why don't you follow me? I can get you something to eat and answer any questions that you might have." Blaine said. I looked back at Julian who is now carrying the man I beat up.
I sighed before I looked at Blaine. "What kind of food?" I asked. Blaine started to walk towards the butcher shop that is on the other side of the street. Thankfully he was walking so slow, I was able to check up with him in no time.
"Well, I'm sure my cook can make something that you can have," Blaine said. I looked at him before I saw the name of the butcher shop that he is walking to. The building is called 'Meat Cute' which is a weird name in my opinion, but sure it is okay for being a name of a butcher shop.
I followed Blaine inside of the butcher shop. "Cissie, can you get this young lady something to eat? Something special that doesn't have pineapple or almonds." Blaine said to a lady that is behind the counter. I looked at Blaine in confusion. Not knowing how he knows that I'm allergic to pineapples and almonds.
The lady, Cissie, looked at me before nodding her head. "Coming right up boss," she said. "Come on little lady," Blaine said as he walked to the back of the butcher shop. I slowly walked past the counter and to the back of the shop.
When I got to the back, Blaine was waiting there along with Julian. "So, I'm sure you have questions," Blaine said as he pointed to a chair. I looked at him before I put my backpack down on the ground by my feet. Instead of sitting on the chair, I jumped up onto a counter that isn't too far away from the table.
"Alright, then. Do you have any questions that we could answer?" Blaine asked. "Why did I go all crazy with the man in the aisle?" I asked. "That is what most of us call, full-on zombie mode," Blaine said.
"Full-on what mode?" I asked. "Right, you don't know what you are, do you. Well, I'm still trying my best to put together the welcoming speech. You, my young friend.......you are a zombie. One of the youngest ones that we have ever met. The platinum strand of hair that I saw sticking out from what I think is a wig, is one of the give-aways." Blaine said.
"Sure, yeah, because that makes sense," I said. "You know what, this was a bad idea. I mean following a man who I only met a few times, but know nothing about to this butcher shop." I said as I was about to jump off the counter.
Before I did, a voice made me stop what I was doing. Next thing I knew a bald man walked into the room with a plate with a brian on it. He was a fork in one hand. That fork has what I think is a piece of brain on it. He ate it before he looked at me. "Who's the kid?" the man asked as he pointed at me.
