"Wah!" I cry out, smiling as I stare at how beautiful Archie and Wren were. My eyes scanned both of their faces. "I just don't get it..."
"You not get what?"
I look over my shoulder, seeing Arthur holding a plate of mini pizzas. His eyes softened on me when I nod at them and we both face them.
Wren looked at Arthur, but his eyes gravitated towards the pizza. I smile at how obvious he was and I nudge Arthur.
"I think he wants your pizza." I whisper, and Arthur frowns down at it.
"Can five month old eat pizza?" He asks me nervously, because the both of us have never raised a baby before. I shake my head slowly and he looks. "Maybe he can just lick on it and nibble...right?"
"I think so."
"No!"
Arthur and I gasp, looking over our shoulders to see Ava and Isabella with folded arms. I end up pouting as they made their way towards us. They just looked down at us like we were bad...like we weren't the parents.
"You can't give babies pizza. They should only drink breast milk or formula and eat baby food! This is common knowledge stuff dads!" Isabella scolded us, and I look at Arthur.
He looked away awkwardly, only for us to begin to hear lips smacking on something. When we look Arthur laughs when we saw that Wren got the pizza anyway. Seeing him lick on it and nibble, but he couldn't really do much.
"Take it away!" Ava cries, but Arthur looked on in mesmerization. "They can't eat pizza right now!"
"He not eating it, just lick off sauce and tiny nibbles. What so bad about that?" Arthur pouts, trying to block off Wren when Ava tried to take the pizza.
"Dads!" Ava stomped her foot, and Arthur looked away from her with discontent. He looked at Wren sadly because he was evidently enjoying the pizza.
I know I probably won't be the one spoiling them...but at times I find myself being the spoiler. I am also the most desperate when it comes to them. Especially when they were newborns.
Their nursery room was basically my room, along with Arthur. We watched them all the time and I just liked knowing they were safe. He was there more or less for me I should say, because he wasn't that paranoid. More like he just wanted to make sure I didn't go crazy in there and I at least slept.
Now that they're just a few months old and you can start to see their individual personalities... Me clinging has become him actually clinging.
"Okay, fine." Arthur takes the pizza from Wren who looked on at him in shock. He didn't really have a reaction, he just looked confused was all.
"Why must you ruin their fun?" I narrow my eyes at them, and they were just trying to take care of their brothers, evidently. Still! - we know enough about babies.
I grab Wren's cloth bib, wiping his face clean a bit. I then pull it off and see that he's clean now. Archie just looked at him, the both of them having their own communication.
That's when I see Arthur look so...hurt. His eyes lowered a bit and I saw the girls weren't near us anymore. Except I think I understood what it could've been...but I'm not exactly sure.
"What's wrong?" I just ask him outright, and he glances at me now.
"I feel bad..."
"For?"
"I never raise...Isabella and Ava. I think they think since I never raise them, I not be a good dad to babies. It feels...so sad." He tells me in a heartbroken manner.
