We stand here in shock, the kids already have rushed inside by my orders. Arthur was staring him down and he quickly looked away with an awkward smile.
"Okie dokie! Well, this was a great first meeting!" Raphael said, glaring at me for a second but then faced Arthur." I'm your father! You should be hugging me."
"I prefer not." Arthur muttered, folding his arms as he took a deep breath and looked at me. I could tell he wanted to talk to me alone and I guess I owe that to him. He had no idea I found his dad and he doesn't look pleased either.
"This is amazing. What a nice event. Now, since my son doesn't want to hug me, I think I should get a drink. I'm parched!" He sighed, looking away from Arthur as he went to Dylan." Would you like to inform me on my son, mon lion?" ( my lion? )
Dylan looked away, nodding as him and Raphael walked inside. His suitcases still in the car and I sure as hell wasn't bringing them in.
Looking at Arthur, he looked at me softly. A grin coming onto his face, walking to me as he hugged me.
"I appreciate the gift... But he is nothing to what I thought or wanted. He is the complete opposite of what I expected... I'm bewildered..." He whispers in my ear, letting me know he was trying not to cry.
My arms wrap around him as I rub his back. Knowing that if I was him I'd be saddened too.
"Arthur...we must focus on the positives. Just remember that there's the baby. I brought him here so that he could experience the whole thing with us. I just wanted you to be happy."
"I understand. I'm not mad at you, I'm just embarrassed. I guess I just need to give him a chance, you know?"
"I'm sorry...but I don't know."
I hear him chuckle, making me sad as he hugs me tighter.
"That's understandable. I don't expect you too, appreciate the honesty though." He murmurs quietly." Is it okay if we stand here for a while?"
"Of course." I respond. The two of us just standing here for as long as he wanted. I didn't mind at all.
***Dylan***
"So, how long have you known my son?" Raphael asks, folding his arms as he leaned back into the cushion. Watching as his hand hovered over his mouth and rested on his top lip. Staring intently at me and having me get all nervous.
"I've known him for quite some time I guess. Met him through William and all... From there we kinda hit it off and we're good friends."
"Not best friends?"
I flinch, wondering if it was rude of me to say yes or no.
"I mean-."
"Because I hear you and William are best friends. What about Arthur? I bet he's left out."
"Arthur isn't that kind of person..." I found myself saying, making Raphael glare at me.
"Oh? Of course you'd know. You know my son so well because you were with him for almost a decade. Congrats."
I open my mouth to say something but he just shakes his head. Stopping me almost like he had more authority over me than myself! Considering this is Arthur's father I see no resemblance at all. At least with Williams dad, I can see it. But this guy...not at all.
The looks, for sure. They're both good looking and appeasing to look at. Both have French accents but Raphael's is much more stronger. Not to mention he's not that much older than us...forty-two to be exact.
