"We're fighting a what?" Blake cocked an eyebrow as she looked over the file for the job Yang had accepted for them.
"Manticore, and there are several of them," Yang stretched her hands above her head and Blake swore she heard a few bones crack, making her wince. "I guess a few of these bad boys are lurking a bit to close to some farms on the outskirts of Vale and causing some trouble for traveling merchants."
"But why us? This seems like Huntress work."
"Firstly," Yang held up her scroll to show off her Huntress license, "I am still technically a Huntress. Secondly, the Huntsmen around here are stretched pretty thin right now on larger jobs. A few Manticore being a slight nuisance isn't exactly high on their fame and glory list. It seemed like a pretty easy job for us to take and brush up on our skills."
"But not too easy of course," Blake teased.
Yang grinned and pecked her on the cheek as she made way to their room. "You know me so well! Now c'mon let's pack for this!"
Blake stared at her bag for awhile before she realized that she had no clue what to bring on this trip. Was she supposed to pack like she did when she did missions for the White Fang? A camping trip maybe? Some combination of the two? Finally she huffed in frustration.
"What all do we need for this? How much do I pack?"
Yang finished zipping her back and came up behind her, wrapping her arms around her waist and resting her chin on her shoulder. "Thay rusty huh?"
Blake halfheartedly smacked at her girlfriends hands. "Be nice. It's been awhile since I've had to pack for anything like this."
Yang raised an eyebrow at her. "Baby we just went on a trip to rescue your kidnapped parents like...two weeks ago."
Blake's cheeks flushed and embarrassing shade of red. "So just pack like I did for that trip?"
Yang smirked. "Mostly."
"Mostly?"
"Bring your weapon, some clothes, something to sleep in...oh! And bring something nice to wear," in between her list of things to bring Yang would trail soft kisses down Blake's neck who shivered from each one.
"Something nice?"
"Yeah. Like that dress you were on our date that one time."
"Why? What are you scheming?"
Yang released her and shrugged. "Every job should be celebrated when it gets finished. This is your first official job with me. I wanna take you out somewhere nice afterwards. There's a nice place on that side of town I've been wanting to take you."
"Lemme guess, the owner doesn't let you pay?"
Yang looked mock offended. "Not everyone I know refuses to let me pay. I'll have you know that I do pay them...it's just at a discount."
Blake laughed and neatly tucked the dress Yang mentioned into her bag. "Are we taking bumblebee there?"
"Would we take anything else?"
Outside the house Ilia was giving orders to a few guards. Once she caught eye of Blake and Yang she dismissed them and jogged over to see them off.
"Everyone here has been informed on how long you plan to be away, they know to keep an eye out for Adam or anyone wearing a White Fang mask, and made sure they know that Sienna Khan is allowed on the property but only if she is bringing information."
"Ilia," Blake laughed at how serious her friend was taking her new job, "you can relax you know. Yang and I both believe in you. I doubt we will hear from Sienna so soon anyway so maybe take this time to actually relax a little."
