Rain'Ella POV

Rachel and I walked into the house. Mom and dad were on the couch watching tv. They turned it off as soon as they saw us. I walked over and sat down across from them and Rachel sat beside me.

"We need to talk." I said.

"We do." dad said.

"Well, I just have one question. Why did you give me up, but not Rain'Ella?" Rachel asked.

"We were too young and we had no thing to give to you. We were in high school and not even married yet." my mom said.

"Then after that, two years later, I got a job and your mother got pregnant again. This time we had what we needed to take care of a baby. That's why we kept Rain'Ella." dad said.

"Rain that's why I treated you so poorly. When I looked at you, I saw your seesta. She was my first born and I weeshed thawt I cood have kept ha." my mom said feeling upset. Her accent was getting strong.

"Yea. We missed you and there wasn't a day we didn't think about you Rachel." my dad said as tears formed in his eyes.

Rachel was beside me bawling. I couldn't imagine what she must feel. She got given up for adoption, but her sister didn't. I don't know what she went through while she was in the system and in those foster homes, but I feel like she is way stronger than I could ever be.

"Umm, we also have to tell y'all something. We are getting a divorce." my dad said.

"What? Why?" I asked.

"Your mom and I can't get along. I feel like she stopped being mean to you, and started in on me." He said.

"Mom why?" I asked.

"I just don't like the way your dad is. He is so dom controlling. He act like I a maid and he do not appreciate nothing I do een dis house." mom fussed.

"I think y'all should talk about this to each other. Have you even considered compromising?" Rachel asked.

"No. I'm really just tired of her shit. Honestly, she's always doing something. It's like she's got to piss me off in some way. I've had enough." dad said.

"I hate you! You stupid bihh!" mom yelled before slapping dad.

"Aye you gon quit putting yo hands on me Ellinga!" dad said calling my mom by her first name.

"Shut up bihh!" mom yelled as she got up and walked out the living room.

"That escalated quickly." I said.

"Yea. Your mom is a damn hand full. I'll be back. Y'all can stay if you like. Rain you should show her around the house." dad said before walking out the room to go see about mom.

"Well, I guess I'll just show you around and stuff." I said.

The rest of the day, I spent bonding with my sister and getting her to bond with mom, dad, and Renee. I guess this was another crazy situation that had found it's way toward me. My parents hate each other, I have a long lost sister, the guy I thought loved me was a piece of shit, the girl I grew up with and loved like a sister was stabbing me in the back. I spent the day trying to hold it together. I had to be strong.
