Luna
That night I fell asleep but was awoken by a crash in my room."Who's there," I said.
"Shh," I heard. "Its Zeke." I finally noticed his figure in the dark and relaxed.
"What are you doing here," I whispered.
"Helping you escape," he says.
"What's going to happen to you," I ask.
"Don't worry about it," he says and grabs my hand. It was warm and assuring that I would be safe, but would he.
"No," I say, yanking my hand away. "I'm not letting you do this for me. I care for you and I am not letting you die for me."
"I would rather die for you," he says. "Than have to deal with the pain he'll cause you here." My heart sank and I knew then that this man liked me. He gave me his hand and I took it. "Don't talk and tip toe." I nod and we find our way out. The night air was cold and I didn't recognize where we were.
"Where are we," I ask. He smiles.
"That's confidential information," he replies and I roll my eyes.
About an hour later, I was growing tired and weary. Zeke noticed and layed down his jacket. He layed down and gestured for me to lay by him. I blushed because I never was this close to a guy before, not being intimate.
"Why," I ask him, drifting off to sleep."Why what," he asked.
"Why are you doing this?" He tensed.
"Because I never met anyone as amazing as you." I smile and close my eyes.
Zeke
The next morning, her head rested against my chest. I didn't move because I didn't want her to wake up yet. I wanted to enjoy the sight of her. I basically told her how I felt last night. She exhaled and stirred awake."He's going to notice, Zeke," was the first thing she said when we began walking again.
"Notice what," I say.
"Notice that your gone," she says. "And from the looks of it, he doesn't seem like a nice guy."
"He's fine," I say. "I''m fine. Stop worrying about me, okay?" She looks down. "Okay?" I repeat.
"Fine," she says and begins to walk again.
"So who is this boyfriend of yours," I say. She closes her eyes.
"His name is Chad," she says. "He's the Alpha of New York." I smile.
"That's pretty ironic," I say. "Considering your name's Luna." She glares at me, like I said something wrong. "No," I say and she shakes her head. "Sorry, just trying to be funny."
'You're hilarious," she says, sarcastically.
"That is very offensive," I say and we both start laughing. It felt normal to laugh with her. I heard a russle in the leaves. "Do you hear that?" She listens and her eyes widen.
"Run," she yells.
"Not so fast, darling," a man grabbed her. He was pretty tall and Alpha's size. "Who's your friend?" He lurches towards me but I move away.
"Run. Luna," I yell. She shakes her head. She was crazy.
"Chad, stop," she yells. So this was Chad. "How did you find me?"
"They helped me," he says pointing. Max stood next to Alpha, looking down. Luna noticed and ran towards me.
"NO," she says but Chad pushes her down. "Don't hurt him, please."
"I'm not going to hurt him," Alpha says. "I'm going to kill him." Max looked at me, sympathetically, but I looked away. Alpha lurched toward me and punched me until I saw darkness. The last thing I heard was Luna's sobs, begging him to stop.
