Luke has been in the hospital for three days now. His coma hasn't even acknowledged that my brother is still alive in there. He's on life support and Chad and Gracie have been trying to comfort me.

Gracie came to see him everyday and I knew why. They were mates. Although, Gracie was my best friend, she was my brothers soulmate. They had been dating for over three months and she has been stopping him from making bad choices. Now, staring at my brother, I don't know why Gracie even bothered.

I lay my head on Chad's shoulder and he wraps his arm around my waist. At these moments, I actually think that I love him. Gracie sits on the other side of Luke, holding his hand. I finally ask her the question I have been dying to ask.

"Do you have any idea who did this," I ask. "Or why they would do this." My brother got hit across the head with a sewage pipe and whoever did this ran.

"Kind of," she said, taking a piece of paper out of her pocket. "Whoever did was part of a clan called the shadow puppets." She hands me the piece of paper. It was a stamp of a werewolf standing by a tree and underneath was "The Shadow Puppets." "I have no idea why, though," Gracie said.

"The Shadow Puppets are a type of ferocious clan," Chad says and I look at him. "They murder, or at least try to murder, innocent werewolves who get in the way of there rebellion."

"Rebellion," I ask Chad. He nods.

"They want a world of violence to solve everything. Luke was either taking their violence away with his acts or preventing any acts of violence."

"One day," Gracie began. "When Luke came home he said he helped a woman out of a fire. They must have caused that fire and Luke got in there way."

"That makes since, " I say. She nods.

"Babe," Chad says. "I think we should go home. It's getting late." I nod and hug Gracie.

"Call me if he wakes up," I said this everyday when we leave. She nods and I kiss my brother on the forehead. I take Chad's hand and we exit the room.
Gracie

I stare at Luke, thinking of what our future could have been. If he didn't wake up we wouldn't be able to get married or to start a family. I've been crying a lot lately. IVs run from his wrists to the machines that are keeping him alive. I trace his wrist in silence and grab his hand again.

I am about to sit back when I feel a squeeze on my hand. His eyes start to flutter. He's awake!

"Luke," I say. He mumbles something I can't understand. "Luke, its Gracie." He looks at me.

"Hi, baby," he says and I smile. I lean in and kiss him. "What's that for?" He looks around. "Why am I in the hospital?"

"Calm down," I say and he relaxes. "You've been asleep for over three days. You were in a minor coma. Someone hit you across the head with a pipe. What the last thing you remember?" I start stroking his hair.

"I remember leaving to go to work," he said. "That's all." I smile.

"Do you want me to call Luna?" He nods.

The phone rings twice. "Hello," Luna says.

"He's awake," I say and then she hangs up.
