Meeting Epona

As i walked along the Hyrule field, a slight breeze was blowing in my face. I could see Lon Lon ranch from a far.

As I walked through the gate, the sent of the farm animals took me by surprise. Since this is my first time being outside of the forest, its my first time seeing (and smelling) farm animals. I saw cuccos, cows, and horses. These were animals that we talked about in the forest but have never actually saw.

I walked into the house to see if Malon was in there but all I saw was a sleeping Talon. I crept up to him. "Uhhh e-excuse me sir-" i said waking him up. "W-what what! I'm up. I'm up," He looked at me with a confused expression but that quickly changed. "Oh your that boy at the castle," he said. I was about to ask him where Malon was but he interupted me. "Say boy, you wanna play a game with me. If you win I'll give you something special," he said with a smerk. I thought about it for a while. What if he was a con man and he was trying to pull something quick over me. I looked at him for a whike before nodding. "Ho ho there we go! Alright, you see these here cuccos," he gestured towards 3 cuccos he had. "These here are special, now I'm gonna throw these with all the other cuccos and you got a minute to find them. Don't worry I know which cuccos are which, so you ready," he said putting out his hand to shake it. I looked at the cucoos reall quick. I noticed that they had red eyes, unlike the others that had yellow eyes. I knew right away I had figured out his game. I put my hand in his. I then used both my hands to cover my eyes so I won't see where the cuccos would go. "Ohh being a little cocky are we boy, ho ho ok lets go!" He shouted as he threw the cuccos in the air. I moved my hands and quickly ran around the room. I immediately found one with red eyes, then the other, and finally the last one. As I returned to cuccos to Talon in under 45 seconds, his jaw dropped wide. "H-how did you.....well this is just to hard to believe but a deals a deal so here ya go," he said as he handed me a jar with Lon Lon Milk. "Those are a fine set of skills boy, I wouldnt mind if one day you wanted to marry my daughter," he said. My face grew red and hot. "What?! O-oh n-" I tried to say but he cut me off with a huge laugh. "I'm just playing around with ya, but if you wanna see Malon she's in the field with the horses. You take care now," he said with a wave as I left.

I walked in the field and I saw her there, she was singing to a small pony. "Hey Malon," I yelled to her. "Ohh hi fairy boy, oh by the way I never did get your name,"
"Oh its Link,"
"Link....thats a funny name," she said with a giggle. "So what are you doing in Lon Lon Ranch?" She said petting the pony. "Ohh I just came to check on you and your father." I said. "Thats nice of you. Hey would you like to meet my friend, her name's Epona,"
"Hey Epona" I said as I tried to pet her but she ran away. "Looks like she's not use to you yet. Hey! Is that an ocarina!" She said pointing at the ocarina hanging out if my bag. "Oh ya, it was gift from Princess Zelda," I said taking it out to show her. "Wow cool, here, I'll show you Epona's Song, this way Epona won't be afraid of you," she said. She started to sing this beautiful melody that I put to notes in the ocarina. After playing the song, Epona rushed over to me and started licking my face. "Woah down girl," I said with a chuckle. "See she likes you now. My mother taught me that song, before she died. She said it could tame the wildest of horeses, it could even get cows to produce fresh milk. We call it Epona's Song cause Epona is the most stubborn," she said petting Epona. "Well it was nice meeting Epona, but I have to get going. I'll stop by later, bye Malon," I said walking away "See ya later fairy boy," she shouted.
