The guardian paces back and forth by his tree, his mind troubled by thoughts of the wanderer.

What should he do about her?

She seems harmless for the most part, but appearances can be deceiving.

There has to be more to the girl, otherwise, why would she keep wandering into the forest like this?

People wander into the forest, yes, every once in a while they do so, but never this far in. No one had made it to this part of the forest in a while.

Despite his warnings, the girl keeps coming back.

It's only fair he did the same, right?

For the sake of the forest he will watch her, only until he can figure out if she is a foe or threat.

Yes. That's what he is going to do.

As swift as the wind, the guardian retraces her footsteps until he reaches her home, arriving in no time.

To his surprise, the girl is outside playing with a dog, a very familiar dog to him.

Could it be?

The guardian quickly hides as the snowy figure pauses to look at him, tail wagging in happiness at the sight of a familiar face.

With a few barks, it makes its way to him, the guardian gently petting it's head before sending him back to the girl, letting out a relieved sigh when he does so.

That was close.

However, the girl doesn't seem to notice, returning back to her house soon after.

She doesn't do anything out of the ordinary after that.

Her routine consists of drinking tea, watering some plants and writing notes of some kind while listening to music through her headphones.

The guardian lets out a puff of air through his cheeks, taking a bite of an apple as he continues to watch he girl.

It's starting to get a little boring.

Just as he is about to leave, the girl abruptly stands up, wildly moving her body around to the beat of whatever it is that she is listening to.

The guardian can't help a brief chuckle before he composes himself, shaking his head slightly at the action.

He can't help feeling like this is wrong.

Despite having his reasons, he has seen enough for now.

If he sees her in the forest again, they will have a long talk.

He sincerely hopes it doesn't come to that.

Another day, the guardian is going about his usual walk when he stops in his tracks and looks up to the sky.

Without meaning to, he wandered back to her house.

He is beginning to understand how easy it is to wander about when one is lost in thought.

Maybe she was right after all.

But still, he cannot let down his guard completely.

Not yet.

There she is again, this time reading a book.

The guardian raises a brow as rain pours down from the sky, her eyes sparkling with excitement as she hurries to move things inside the house, bringing out several buckets for the rain.

Then, with her eyes glued to the sky, she stretches out her hand, letting the water run down her palm and arm.

She takes one step, and then another, and another until she is fully standing in the rain, a wide smile on her face.

Twirling around, the girl begins to dance, enjoying the rain to its fullest extent.

The guardian understands, there is much beauty in the rain.

It brings life, nourishment and refreshment to everything around. She seems to understand that as well.

In the middle of her dance, the girl pauses for a moment and looks his way, her eyes squinted as she tries to see through the pouring rain.

With the corners of his lips turned into a faint smile, the guardian turns around, glancing at her house one last time before he calls it a day.

Perhaps she is not so bad after all.
