The next day arrived sooner than I would've liked. I walked through the entrance gate and was immediately met by an aggravated Billy.
"Wait, Billy. Before you do this, I want to ask you if you would like to come to the old chapel tonight with me." There I said it. It was ridiculous and I said it.
Billy stared at me in disbelief before beating the crap out of me.
Everything ached; I tasted blood. "Wait, Billy! I just want to show you the God I know."
I thought he hesitated before punching me after I said that.

"Are you okay?" It was Ally standing over me. I blinked hard and shielded my eyes from the blazing sun. I tried to sit up but fell backwards again.
"Maybe don't do that," she said. "I'll get a teacher."
The nurse came and like always, I made up an excuse. They suspected something else was happening but since I wasn't giving them names, who could they blame?
"Go home, Max," the nurse told me. "You are in no shape for school today. You fell quite hard on the pavement."
I nodded.
"I'll call your aunt."
Home was five minutes away from the high school, so it was quite easy to get there. I didn't head home though, I headed to the chapel.
Upon walking in I saw the homeless man who I had come to know as a friend praying in the first pew. "Ah, Maxwell. How are you?" Then he scanned me and saw the condition I was in. "I assume Billy got you?"
I sat down by him, "I thought you said I would 'see a victory'."
He chuckled. "You will."
I looked at him. "I didn't."
"But you will." He tapped my nose and stood up. I sat in confusion. He hesitated before turning towards the exit, "Trust me, Max. Let's go get some lunch, eh?"
