"Doesn't it suck?" Ally asked me. "You don't even get to see what he's doing in there." She tried to look through the musky windows. "Darn."
"Yeah," I said.
"So, how'd it go? You're not beat up. That a good sign?" Ally asked.
"It went fine. I just don't know if I gave him enough."
"Jesus said you would. I think it's best if we trust him." Aly said.
I nodded.
Silence filled the rest of the time we spent waiting—a total of 20 minutes.
Later, Jesus emerged with Billy, who had a red face, probably from tears. "Who's ready for Denny's?" Jesus exclaimed.
