Chapter Twenty five- February -3 weeks Later-

"Can you believe it's February already, just Four months until the wedding." Ava had been going on and on about the wedding even more so the last few weeks. The bar had been slow and Lacey and I hadn't really talked about what happened. I had tried bringing it up the day we went out with Ava but she said that maybe we should just being friends for a while.

 I had a feeling she was scared and I had over heard her talking to Sid about how I didn't even know if I was really a lesbian or if it was just a phase. It's true I don't have a clue about being into girls, but I did know how I felt about Lacey and that I couldn't describe. I was starting to think she regretted it, we hadn't had a one on one conversation unless it was about work after that day.

 "So have you been getting a lot of help from Lidia?" Lidia was Ava's mom, a nice lady but always getting into Ava's business though Ava didn't seem to mind. I just wondered how Landon would respond to it. "Yeah we've been doing a lot of it through Skype and email, but she and my dad are actually coming out this weekend to stay for a few weeks."

 I could tell in her voice that she was excited; I on the other hand couldn't handle more than a week with my parents staying at my house. I laughed wondering how Landon was feeling about it, but then again he should get to know the in laws. "Oh cool so how does Landon feel about your parents coming to stay?" Ava paused. "He's excited...nervous..I think he doesn't know how to feel with how distant he is with his family.

 His mom said she wasn't coming out and the rest of his family we have no address or any other information on." My mind automatically went to Lacey. I wondered what she would feel like if they did come. "Maybe it's for the best, a drama free wedding."

 "Yeah I just feel bad. Lacey's the only person coming from his side of the family." I couldn't even imagine how hard It would be to only have one family member coming to your wedding.

"I mean he has a few friends but other than that Lacey's the only family member attending, oh shoot hey can I call you back I forgot I have to call Sadie we're having lunch tomorrow she's helping me pick the brides maids dress's and colors out." Ava's excited voice returned once again.

 "Sure I'll just call you tomorrow?" I laughed at her tone.

"Sure bye Miles." Added basically hanging up on me.

I hung up tossing my phone down on the bed next to me looking over at Twinkie who was lying down beside me his long tongue hanging out as he panted."Twinkie what am I going to do?" I sighed as Twinkie began licking my hand. "Thanks Twinks." I giggled patting his head, getting up and walking over to my closet. "What should I wear?" I asked myself out loud, pulling out a dark blue jean mini skirt and low cut purple long sleeved v neck I had just bought especially for work. I had been making good tips, more than I thought I would and had the routine down pact. I got dressed pinning my bangs back into a poof spraying hair spray all over it.

"There."

 I said aloud adding a pink lip plumper grabbing my purple and black, purse walking out the door.

 As I walked into Nancy Girls I was surprised to find myself surrounded by tons of pink red and white Valentine's Day decorations plastered all over the walls. I tilted my head to the side looking at a huge red heart with a cupid holding it up pretending to throw up. I had forgotten how much I hated Valentine's Day until I had walked in to the bar. "What's with all the pink, I get that it's almost V-Day and all but it looks like cupid vomited all over the bar." I stated laughing as I set down my purse behind the bar sitting on the counter top. "That's what I said" Sid added in as she poured 3 shots handing Lacey and I one "To the February rush."

 Sid said holding her shot glass towards Lacey's and mine as I held mine up. We all clanked our glasses together downing our shots. "Wait February rush?" I wasn't quite sure what they meant other than the obvious. "Yeah it's the time of the year when everyone wants to find love and the infamous 'one' February is also Valentine's Day as you know so it's even more of a reason to find someone to love. So as you can tell why it's called the rush." I nodded swallowing the vodka as it slowly warmed its way down my throat. "Well just another thing for me to overcome right?" I laughed a little clearing my throat. Lacey nodded "Oh and let's not forget the broken hearts trail as well, there will be plenty of V Day haters due to broken hearts crowding the bar as well." Lacey exclaimed as Sid shook her head laughing slightly.

"Shh here are some of the original V Day haters." Lacey whispered tossing her blonde hair back out of her face grabbing it putting it in a high pony tail on top of her head. "Hi Ladies" Lacey muttered leaning her elbows on the counter looking at them as they all filed towards the bar. There were four girls and one guy, the guy I assumed was gay being dressed in a pink tight tee shirt, hot pink boots and skin tight blue jeans.  "Oh my someone's looking sexy in that magenta mini dress, Ow! Work it girl, I'll have the usual love." The guy said swaying his hand from side to side sitting down on the barstool crossing his legs. I jumped down of the bar going behind it cutting a few lemons filing the bar.

 The new girl Natalie would be starting tomorrow, basically doing what I was hired to do in the first place. Lacey sat talking to the same group for a good fifteen minutes before walking over to where I was making their drinks. "I love Curtis he's awesome, he thinks Valentine's Day is so overrated and created his own day. 'I don't give a shit day'" he's hilarious. I smiled "Well it is overrated, it's a holiday made for people to buy useless crap like teddy bears, chocolates, cards and flowers, why can t people be more original." Lacey shook her head from side to side. "I actually like Valentine's Day, even if it is corny its sweet that guys rush around trying to buy presents last minute, how women get ready to go out putting on their dress and perfume" her smile widened I could tell she was quite fond of the 'holiday'.

"I Guess I ..." Before I could finish my sentence Curtis walked over to the bar. "Who's this sexy thing?" Lacey laughed "This is Miles, she started here a few weeks ago." He chuckled "Well Hello Miss De- Lish, so do you rock with the cock or lick with the chicks?" I was stunned at his words he was so up front, I just blushed shaking my head "I'm not sure what or who I am yet..." Lacey turned toward me then walked away towards the basement. Curtis watched her walk away. "Well what sunk her battleship?" he laughed doing a hair flip. "Can I get a sex on the beach and a fuzzy navel sweetie?" "Sure coming right up" As I turned around I heard him walk back to the table with the girls, why did he have to ask that, why did everyone have to ask that, I sighed.
