"I found some towels!" I brought the basket of clean towels into the living room. Evan sat on the couch and shivered. I pulled one around his shoulders.

"Feeling any better?" Nodding slightly, he pulled the towel closer around his body.

"I can throw your clothes in the dryer, if you'd like?"

"That would be awesome. Thanks." He pulled off his shirt and pants. I walked down the hall and threw them in.

Back in the living room, I found he was gone. I sat on the couch and suddenly he was behind me. One of his hands gripped my shoulder and the other pulled a strand of hair behind my ear. He lowered is mouth down to my ear.

"Why are you such a beautiful person?"

"Evan..." Chills ran through my body at his whispering.

"Let's do something fun. You and I."

"Evan! I almost drowned right now!"

"But you didn't. More of an excuse to celebrate, no?"

His lips pressed against my neck. The light kisses made their way up to my jawline and then to my lips. He rolled over the couch and landed next to me. His hand moved to my neck.

"Evan..."

His mouth went to my ear again.

"Trust me."

Before I knew it, I was on my back and his hand was on my chest. Tugging at my wet shirt, I pulled it over my head and threw it to the floor. He already didn't have clothes on.

"Want to move to the bedroom?"

He pulled me up and I wrapped my legs around his waist. Up against the wall, he pressed his lips aggressively to mine. In the bedroom, I pulled off my pants and fell onto the bed beside him. He crawled on top of me. His hands gripped my thighs and his mouth was on my stomach. He made it way up to my chest. I sat up, undoing the clasp on my bra. He lifted me slightly, and his mouth met my collarbone.

"Are you good?" I nodded as I watched him stand up. He was perfect. Never had I ever imagined a human being as entrancing as he was. He slid his boxers down and was down on me. A moan slipped from my mouth. I could've sworn I was in heaven, and I never wanted to leave.

When I woke up, my arm was draped over a pillow. Evan was gone. Of course. The realization slapped me across the face. In my bed, I sat naked and vulnerable. Pulling on some clothes from the floor. In the kitchen, a note was taped to the fridge.

"I'm sorry I had to leave you. Something came up. I'll call you later? Sorry again, Evan."

Well, I guess it hadn't just been a one night stand. He would come back, and oddly, it gave me butterflies. Everything about him mesmerized me. I'd never had the best luck with guys. There was the stage at the beginning of college when I thought I was a lesbian. That didn't work out. For a while after that, I thought I didn't even have a sexuality. Nobody caught my eye. Male or female. A key shook in the front door. Annette walked in.

"There you are!" She ran in and hugged me.

"Here I am. What happened?"

"When you didn't come back or call me last night, I got worried. I heard you fell in the water at the park?"

"I don't know where you heard that."

"It was in the paper this morning."

"Well I'm fine."

She brought me into a close hug.

"Don't scare me like that again."

"I wasn't trying to scare you."

She brushed the side of my face with her hand and smiled. "I'm just glad you're okay. Have you written about it?"

"No." I had plenty of recent things to write about.

"Did you have sex?"

"Maybe. Why?"

"You seem happier than usual. Besides, you said you were meeting a guy yesterday and your hair is crappier more messed up than normal." I brushed my hair down with my hands. It was pretty bad.

"Maybe I was trying out some new style. Artists have a tendency to try out new things."

She laughed and nudged my shoulder, "Whatever floats your boat, kiddo."

"Let me go shower. I have a gig tonight at some new cafe."

"Okay. I'm glad you're going out."

"Sorry I'm not the social butterfly sister your always wanted."

"It's okay. You're better."
