I sat outside the movie theatre and waited for Evan to get here. I couldn't help but look down at the time on my phone every two seconds. It also made me look like less of a loser.

I looked down again. The time was just after eight. Our movie would be starting soon.

"Hello beautiful!" My eyes dashed up to see his face lit up with joy.
"Hi..."
"You ready for this movie? I heard it was really good."
"Of course."

We walked up and bought our tickets for "Reveiller d'un Reve." It was a French film, and it won an award, so why not? I spoke French, even though Evan didn't. He figured he could just keep up with the video portion.

We walked inside and I felt him take my hand in his, lacing our fingers together. I looked down at them very suttlely and felt a rush of butterflies explode in my stomach. Evan grabbed a soda and some popcorn before we headed inside. There weren't very many people here. Just ten others at the most. Evan picked out a great spot in the middle of the theater.

As the movie started to play, I couldn't play attention to any of it. All I could look at was our hands together and how it was making me feel. I wasn't quite sure about it myself. My entire life, I tried to be strong and independent, but when Evan was around, my body melted in an instant.

Every once in a while, I would glance up at the screen so it seemed like I was paying attention. Evan would take a sip of his soda and try and understand the movie. He was more focused on it than I thought he would be. It was really good. A girl woke up from a coma after being in an accident, but she didn't know she was in a coma, because while asleep, continued living her life like it had never happened. I can see why it won an award. Toward the end, I actually paid attention and ended up tearing up. Evan wrapped his arm around me and reassured me that things would be okay, and that it was only a movie.

We walked out of the theatre to found ourselves back in darkness. This theater in particular was in a sketchier part of town. Evan took my hand we walked to the parking lot. I leaned up against the side of my car, so that I was facing him.

"You know, you could always come back to my place..." I tried to make it seem casual, but he saw right through me.

"As tempting as that may seem," his fingers lingered over my arm, making my heart race faster, "I have to get home."

"Do you have time for a drink?"

He smiled and stepped back. "There's always time for a drink."

We arrived at the same bar where we'd only first met several days ago. Instead of sitting at the bar, we grabbed a small table to the side. A woman brought us drinks and I leaned back in my chair.

"That was a pretty good movie."

Evan finished his glass and set it down on the table. "That was a good movie! I'm sure you understood it better than I did though."

I laughed at him. Not what he said, but just him in general. They way he smiled and pushed his hair out of his face. I loved the way his collar was never quite right, but it just showed that things didn't have to be perfect to be beautiful.

"What?" He laughed and stared in amusment.

"Nothing. You're just cute."

"I'm cute?"

I nodded and giggled to myself as I sipped from the glass. I was pretty sure whiskey was about to shoot out of my nose, which would've burned badly.

"I like you, Rosemary."

"Really?"

"Well, hasn't it been pretty damn obvious? But yes, I like you. I have since we first met in that bar. You were sitting there drunk off your ass and looking more beautiful than any other girl I'd ever seen before."

"You mean that?" I was feeling sort of light-headed and I was messing with my hands again.

"I really do."

"Are you sure you can't come back to my place?"

He smiled and took my hands in his, leaning across the table, winking.

"I guess I could ditch for tonight."
