Everything Changes
chapter sevenThe sirens had stopped and the police officers surrounded me, asking for answers. I felt overwhelmed by it all, not just the sea of people, but the last hour.
Who knew so much could change in such a short amount of time?
"Allright, give the girl space." Mr. Stilinski barked at the other officers. The crows dispersed and left Sheriff Stilinski, Scott, Stiles, and I. He handed me a blanket in which Scott grabbed and wrapped around my shoulders.
"Is there anyone you want me to call? I bet your mother is worried sick." Sheriff Stilinski asked.
"I..." I stopped myself before I could start. I wasn't sure what I wanted. I knew my mom would want me home but I didn't feel like being with family, they'd only remind me of what I'd lost.
"I can take her home." Scott spoke up, setting his hand on my shoulder. I looked up at him and mouthed 'thank you.'
"Okay, be safe."
Scott and I said bye to Stiles before getting into my car and driving off. Scott drove while sat in the passenger side with Scotts hoodie on.
"So I assume you don't want to go home?" He asked, quickly glancing at me.
"How'd you know?" I asked.
"I could tell when the sherif asked if he should call your mom." He said. "I get it. She would remind you of Derek."
I rested my head on the back of the chair and sighed. "Thanks Scott, for being to nice to me."
"Like I said, a girl like you deserves to be treated as so."
Just then, Scott pulled up to his house. As we walked up to the front door, I could see Scott glancing at me out of the corner of his eye. He stepped up to the door and opened it, letting me go in first.
"Hey mom." Scott called out.
I followed Scott through his house and into his kitchen where his mom stood, worried looking."Scott!" Mrs. McCall yelled. "I just herd what happened. I-" She shouted stopped speaking when she met eyes with me.
"Amber. What are you doing here?" She asked nicely, a hint of sympathy in her voice.
"Oh, mom. You know Derek Hale was Ambers cousin and she doesn't feel like being home right now. So is it okay if she stays over for tonight?" Scott asked.
Mrs. McCall smiled and walked forward towards me. "Oh course she can." She exclaimed. "I'm so sorry honey." She pulled my into a hug.
Suddenly, out of no where I felt this crash of sadness. Tears welled in my eyes and my throat dried up. Her warm hug made me feel welcome.
"Thank you Mrs. McCall." I let go and whipped my eyes.
Scott looked at me with a look of pity on his face. When he pulled me into a hug as well, I was startled. Just like back at the hospital I broke down in his arms.

"So do you like cringe at the smell of wolfs bane?" I whispered holding in a laugh.
Scott and I where sitting on the floor, our backs against his bed, facing the window. The crescent moon shone through his window and lit up our faces. I should have been down stairs sleeping on the couch but hey I just had the worst day of my life. I'm gonna freaking do what I want to do.
He snickered. "Yeah. It's like having an allergic reaction I guess."
"Oh, I see." I said with a mouth full of Twisler.
"Hey, I bet your not. Lucky." Scott pouted.
I laughed and swallowed. "Awww, it's okay Scotty." I patted his head like a dog. We both laughed but soon stoped our selves because we didn't want Scott's mom hearing us.
I reached for a twister at the same time as Scott and outer heads lightly hit each other's.
"Sorry." He whispered, his face inches away from mine.
"It's okay." I responded. I stared into Scott's chocolate brown eyes.
Suddenly with out thinking I leaned closer and pressed my lips against his. I didn't expect him to kiss me back but when he did, sparks where flying. He put his hand under my chin and I ran my fingers through his hair.
We both pulled back and took in a deep breath of air. He rested his forehead against mine. I smiled and a small laugh left my mouth. He did the same.
