Many Great Returns
chapter nine
Ambers POV

I squeezed the cold chains tight. Somehow I thought it might help my nervousness.

Scott stared out the window at the darkening sky.

"Stiles, please let me out. It's the full moon, I swear. You know I wouldn't do any of this on purpose. Please, Stiles, let me out. It's starting to hurt. It's not like the first time. It's the full moon"

I had a strong feeling this wasn't Scott McCall talking. It was like he was being possessed. It gave me a bad feeling, but at the same time I felt like I should help him.

I looked back at the window and saw part of the moon poking threw a cloud.

A panicky feeling came to me. I looked at the floor and saw the moonlight crawling up the floor.

"No. No! No!" Scott cried. At first I thought I should move far away, but instead I found myself scooting closer to Scott.

"Scott! Calm down!" I shouted over his screams.

Scott suddenly stopped screaming. He glared at me, his eyes glowing a bright yellow.

"You need to get away. I can't hurt you, Am." I shuttered at the way he called me Am. Only one person ever called me that.

"Why can't you?" I asked.

"Because he said not to."

I opened my mouth the ask him another question but Scott's face scrunched with pain. He let out a low growl causing a familiar ringing to vibrate in my ears. I shot up and moved as far away as the chains would let's me. I turned my back on him and faced the closed door.

"Stiles! I'm fine, you can let me out."

"How do I know your not lying?" He asked, his voice muffled.

"I...I don't know." I sighed.

There was a clanking sound. I turned my head and saw no Scott but the handcuffs broken on the floor. My eyes widened. I ran to the open window and spotted Scott running in the opposite direction.

"Scott's gone!" I shouted.

Stiles came barging through the door. His eyes landed on the hand cuffs. Slowly, he lifted his head and looked at me. He have a strange look. I furrowed my brows and tilted my head.

"What?" I asked.

"Your eyes." He pointed.

"What about them?" I laughed.

"They're purple."

I shot my body around and faced the computer in Scott's room. I looked at my reflection. My eyes where glowing a dark purple. I shook my head, remembering the key issue.

"W-We've got to get Scott." I said shaking the fear away.

"Okay, let's go." Stiles said holding up his car keys.

We sat in his car and drove around the edge of the woods for a while. The moon light shining over the forest.

"So you feel nothing?" Stiles asked.

"Not a thing, just the need to help Scott."

"Aww." Stiles stuck out his bottom lip. I rolled my eyes.

We drove in silence for another couple minuets. I was searching the woods when from between two trees, two yellow glowing eyes appeared.

"Stop the car." I said loudly, holding my arm in front of stiles. The jeep came to an abrupt stop almost sending us out the front window.

I ignored the angry look on Stiles's face and got out of the car. I sprinted into the woods and followed the shadowy figure that I knew was Scott.

I followed him to an almost empty parking lot. There was a signal red car with a father and his son talking in the front seat. My eyes landed on Scott who had landed on the roof of the car.

"Scott!" I called out. An awful feeling suddenly came to my stomach. It was panic. I started running as fast as I could at him, but I knew once I reached the car I wouldn't be able to stop him.

Out of nowhere, a person jumps at Scott, knocking them both off the car, down the hill, and back into the woods.

Confused, I rush down the hill to find the two fighting.

Anger, fear, and confusion builds up inside me. I feel my eyes burning but I pay no attention to it.

"Stop!" I scream at the top of my lungs, the ground seemed to vibrate due to my volume.

Scott turns his head towards me. His face back to normal. An accomplished feeling washes over me. Then I turn my attention to the mystery person. His face is hidden with a shadow.

"Amber." The very familiar voice says. The stranger steps forward, revealing himself.

"Derek?" I gasp. My body shuttering with shock. My eyes water and I feel my legs start to shake. He steps forward and pulls me into his arms. I let out a cry and burry my face in his shoulder. I feel his hand run up and down my back, calming me.

"I thought you had died." I sniff.

"Amber, I have to te-" Derek stopped and gasped, blank faced. He rouse in the air. Blood spattered from his mouth and something stuck out the front of his chest.

I let out a loud scream if terror as Derek fell to the ground looking lifeless. I felt a hand on my arm, seconds later in being pulled into the school.

"I'm so sorry."
