In Jade/Katelin's Apartment...
Jade: *wakes up to the morning sun, and notices katelin snuggled up to her as usual* Welp, I can't move.
Katelin: *wakes up on queue* Morning! *kisses jade on the forehead*
Jade: Good morning... *gets out of bed* We got a day off, right?
Katelin: Yea... *stretches* Can we get breakfast out? We haven't for a while...
Jade: Sure, I guess. I mean, we've got the whole day off today. We're off duty.
Katelin: Well, I hope nothing bad happens...
Jade: Don't jinx it. *goes to take a shower*
(Hey! It's authors note time! In this universe, inklings and octolings use an artificial liquid to wash/bathe. They also use the artificial liquid for hot tubs. The liquids are clear as water, but it doesn't hurt them. They still can't swim though, so no deep pools. But the pools in this universe also use the artificial liquid just in case one falls in. Anyway, that's enough lore dump.)
One showering and getting dressed offscreen scene later... (Nice try pervs, you ain't seeing these two in the shower.)
Jade: Alright, you got what you need?
Katelin: Yeah! Let's go! *opens their apartment door and walks out the door and down the halls*
Jade: *walking behind her, looking around at the other closed apartment doors, seeing lots of do not disturb signs, and thinks: "Wow, people are still asleep huh."*
Katelin: *presses a few buttons and enters the elevator with Jade*
The elevator goes down, and then the two leave the elevator once it opens. They walk out of the apartment block building and walk across the city pavements, at 8 o'clock in the morning. In the morning, the city is quieter then usual, as most are active during the day or evening, so the nice refreshing morning breeze is a nice thing to experience, complimented by the only noise being moving cars. Another great thing about Inkopolis in the morning is the lack of idiots causing a scene every 2 seconds. It was a nice change of pace for the two. After 20 minutes of a nice walk, they finally arrive at a restaurant.
Jade: So this is where you wanna eat?
Katelin: Yeah! It's my favourite! *smiles with excitement*
The two enter the restaurant. It's currently serving breakfast thanks to it being 8:20 in the morning. Menus are already laid out, and the two are reading.
Summer: *walks out of the bathroom* Ah! Jade! Kate! *walks over* Your eating here too?
Jade: Yes, we're off duty. So we're eating breakfast here. Katelin wanted to eat out.
Summer: Ah, cool. Can I join the table next to you? *sits down* Thanks a bunch. So have you guys-
Waiter: *walks over* Hello ladies, may I take your order?
Jade: We just got here... We haven't decided.
Waiter: My apologises. *walks away*
Summer: Hmm... *scrolling the menu* Yes, the salmon is made out of salmon... The bacon is delicious looking... Chocolate milk is made out of chocolate and milk...
(Another Authors Note. Yes I know that land mammals are dead in the splatoon universe, but imma say in my AU, they use shark meat for bacon, not pigs. As for milk, imma say there is an evolved version of whales that became smaller and more cattle like, and that's where you get milk from.)
