From the start

Chapter 1

The blazing hot sun beamed on my body as I laid on the sand. All I could hear was laughter, and the sound of the waves crashing against the sand. It was a peaceful day and I was trying to catch a tan. "I can't believe spring break is almost over." Katie said spreading the sun tan lotion on her legs. "Yeah I know right." I said and sat up. "Why don't you come back to school? Doesn't online school get boring." She laid down on the sand and put on her sunglasses. "Duhh. But I don't have to deal with all the idiots, and drama." She laughed and turned on her stomach. "Watch out!" Someone yelled from behind. I turned around and a football hit my head. "I'm so sorry! Are you ok?" A boy asked. "Yeah I'm fine." I said and stood up. "I'm Grayson." "Britney." We both smiled. "I'm here with my brother." He said pointing to a boy. "Oh! Your a twin!" Katie sat up quickly. He nodded his head and laughed. "This is my best friend Katie." I pointed to her. His brother and him sat down and talked with us for what seemed like hours.

It was already getting late and we needed to get home. We exchanged numbers and walked back to our car in the parking lot. "Oh gee they are soooo cute!" Katie squealed and got in the car. "Do you think Ethan likes me?" She asked. Her cheeks red and her lips curved into a pretty wide smile. "We could only hope." I answered. I turned up the music and looked out the window.

A good 20 minutes later she pulled into her driveway. "I'll text you." She said and walked into her house. I walked next door and opened the door. "Mom I'm home!" I yelled out. "Did you have a good time at the beach?" She said and walked in from the kitchen. "Yeah." I ran upstairs and laid down in my bed. "Honey. We're having visitors over for dinner tonight so behave. Ok?" My mom said peaking her head in the door. "Who?" "Remember my good friend from work? I invited her family over for dinner tonight. Call her Mrs. Dolan. Be down by 8:30." She closed the door and I heard her footsteps walk down the hall. I shrugged my shoulders and sat on my phone until 8:25.

The doorbell rang and I heard my mom shout "I got it!" Followed by footsteps and cheerful laughter. I was walking down the hallway when I passed my brothers room. "Hey Jack. Are you coming down?" He turned to face me then nodded his head. "I'll be down in a minute." I continued to walk downstairs and then walked into the dinning room.

I didn't pay any mind to everyone else in the room, instead I sat in my seat and pulled out my phone. "Hunny put away your phone away. That's not polite." Dad said with a stern look. "Sorry dad. Can Kate join us tonight?" I asked still on my phone. "Sure." Jack walked in and set the plates down, and mom followed him and served everyone.

"Britney, You look so beautiful. Look at those beautiful Grey eyes." Mrs. Dolan said. I looked up and smiled. "Thank you!" I set my phone on the table and begin eating. "So what school do you go to?" She asked. "I used to go to San Francisco High. But I started doing online school." Taking another spoon full I looked around the table and saw Grayson and Ethan. I gulped, and noticed Grayson starring at me.
