Chapter 28

Darryl's POV

"So what was it that you wanted to tell me?" Sapnap asked.

It was a Thursday morning and I just got to school, I was nervous to tell Sapnap what happened last night but I had to get it out to someone. We sat down at a bench far away from our friends and my leg bounced anxiously.

"So..."

I looked up at him and he was patiently waiting, although his facial expression looked impatient.

"Last night, Zak and I were outside looking at the stars and I..." I stopped to think if I actually wanted to tell him.

"What?- YOU KISSED HIM!" He came quick to assume.

"NO!"

"YOU GUYS MADE OUT?!"

"NO! Well, not exactly."

"WHAT?!" He screamed, his voice cracking.

"WAIT NO! What I meant is-"

"NO, YOU GUYS MADE OUT! ARE YOU PREGNANT?!"

"WHAT NO! What?!"

He was laughing so hard, he started banging his fist on the table.

"No, what I meant is that I confessed to him..."

"Wait, you did?!" He had a bright smile and he instantly focused his attention.

"Sorta..." His face dropped and an almost angry expression showed on his face.

"What do you mean 'sorta'?" He folded his arms and stopped leaning on the table.

"I kissed him on the cheek... That was my confession." I looked down at the ground again and waited for him to respond.

"So? How did he react? Did he kiss you back?" He responded calmly.

"Well..." I chuckled nervously. I got flashbacks of last night and my face heated up instantly and the pink on my cheeks showed.

"You're blushing... Wait, did you guys actually make out?!"

"NO! Stop saying that!"

"Well... maybe it would've happened," I mumbled under my breath.

"WHAT?! Dude! Just tell me! You're getting my hopes up!"

"Your hopes up?! What am I? Some bachelor show?!"

"Do you watch those?!" He asked, completely ignoring his own question.

"That's not what we're talking about!" We were just bickering back and forth now.

"Whatever. Just tell me what happened." He said grumpily.

"Well, once I kissed him, he... he got on top of me-" Oh my gosh, that sounds awful. "And he-"

Sapnap practically choked on air. "Excuse me?!"

"You're thinking it wrong!"

"HOW AM I NOT SUPPOSED TO?!"

"LEMME FINISH!" I snapped.

"This was on the trampoline by the way!" He scoffed then gave me a confused smile and almost started laughing, but I continued anyway.

I rushed my words to hopefully get my point across. "He got on top of me and we almost kissed but then Zak's mom came through the screen door and called Zak to take me home but she didn't see us because it was too dark so we were really lucky but like, WE ALMOST KISSED!" I took a deep breath and looked at Sapnap with my flustered face. He was absolutely speechless.
