"Please Betty I'm sorry," I faintly heard as I tried to drown him out.

That was the sixteenth time he had said that. I wanted to forgive him, but I just couldn't shake off what he said. That felt like a stab to my heart.

You're just like your dad.

You'll be all alone.

I never thought I'd see the day that my Juggie would use my past against me, but seems like my worst fears have come true.

"Sorry isn't good enough Jug," I mumbled through my whimpers and sobs.

I gained the courage to look at him and I wanted to give in with the heartbroken look on his face. His hair was messy from him constantly running his hands through it and pulling it repeatedly. His eyes were red-rimmed and tears threatened to spill like a wall of glass about to shatter.

I took a deep breath, "I thought that you out of all people wouldn't do this. Wouldn't hurt me this way. I opened up to you. Told you all my fears and insecurities and this is how you repay me. I thought you were different, but good to know that you are like the rest."

His lip quivered and the guilt shone through his faint tears. He looked down ashamed and then looked up, "I know that sorry wouldn't cut it. I have absolutely no explanation for saying something so terrible to you. Anger is not an excuse for what I said and I know that I screwed up. I wish I could take it back, but I promise that I won't bring it up again even when I'm upset. You are the most wonderful person that I know and I can't handle you in pain. You are nothing like your father."

He maintained eye contact at all times to convince me that he wasn't lying and I slowly accepted what he said. I nodded and opened my arms for him. He collapsed into my arms immediately and held me tight like I was his lifeline.

We stayed like that for a while and that's when I knew

We're gonna be alright
