⚠TRIGGER WARNING: MENTIONS OF SEXUAL ABUSE AND RAPE!

Jughead Jones: The Serpent King, a gang leader and a heartthrob. Every girl wanted him, yet he rejected all their advances. It's not that he wasn't attracted to them, he wanted something real: a true connection with a person. Truth was, he was scared of getting hurt ever since his mother and sister left him and his father who was an alcoholic at the time. Now, he had cleaned up his act and was getting his life together, but his mother and sister were gone for better or for worse. He loves his sister. His mother? Not so much. Mainly because he left him here all alone assuming that he would end up like his dad even though he was a kid at the time. The now 17-year-old simply decided it was better not to fall in love, to avoid the heartbreak later on. He put in his effort into his passions: photography, writing and the Serpents.

He promised he will never fall for a girl.

Never.

Until Southside High shut down and they had to transfer to Riverdale High...

JUGHEAD'S POV FOR THE REST OF THE STORY

I met up with my friends: Sweet Pea, Fangs (he's bi), Toni (bi but more into girls) and Cheryl (lesbian).

(A/N: Imma pretend Cheryl is from the Southside and is a Serpent coz it's fun)

Cheryl and Toni are dating, but I'm as single as a pringle. Sweet Pea has a girlfriend: Alexis who is from the Southside. Fangs haven't really found the right person and I haven't either, however, I'm not really looking for love. It's because my mom and sister left me when I was young and I really don't want someone to break my heart.

Today we were starting Riverdale High and to be honest, I wasn't really excited. The Northside and the Southside of the town have always hated each other and those people would probably look down on us.  However, I had an ominous feeling that something was going to happen today. We soon hopped on our motorcycles and began our journey to Riverdale High. When we reached, I lead the Serpents being the Serpent King and all. I kicked open the door to see a few teachers waiting for us who gave us our locker assignments, schedules and list of extracurriculars.

My eyes caught a group of people who were chatting. There was a ginger who had his arm wrapped around a raven-haired girl: I assumed they must be dating, there was a guy with brown hair wearing a V-neck sweater and a blonde goddess. My heart caught in my throat when I saw the beautiful girl. Her golden locks flowed freely to her shoulders. Her eyes were sparkling emeralds which you could get lost in. She was wearing a white dress showing off her sunkissed and toned legs: they were beautiful. She seemed to be athletic, so she must be a cheerleader or something. Beautiful was simply an understatement, but I would never fall in love: I didn't want to be left hurt. However, this girl did things to me.

She noticed me staring at her and she gave me a small smile that gave me butterflies and I shot back a smile. Then she turned and left in the other direction.
