※Soulmates ※

BETTY'S POV

Today was the day the Southsiders were transferring to our school since Southside High was shut down due to the drug labs and all. This meant the Serpents were coming to our school which was something I was excited for. Why? I was hoping I could finally find my soulmate. My soulmate tattoo was an emerald green snake with black design details that started from my neck down my arm to my wrist and there was a crown on my hand above the snake. I don't know who it was, but it was a Serpent.

My best friends Archie and Veronica had already found each other when they kissed at a party as a dare. Archie's pearl tattoo and Veronica's boxing glove tattoo shone brightly at that moment. I was happy for them and they loved each other. My other friends: Josie, my cousin and lesbian friend, Cheryl; my gay best friend, Kevin and I hadn't found ours. Cheryl had a pink heart on her neck with a single letter 'T' engraved in it. Kevin had a word: 'Bi' engraved on his wrist which I assume is his soulmate's sexuality so he was happy. Josie had a basketball on her neck which was strange since it was no one on the basketball team, so maybe from the Southside? People admitted to me time and again that my tattoo was really beautiful and extremely detailed.

I left early for school since I was going to introduce them to the school along with the rest of the gang. I wore a black, lacy top with spaghetti straps and dark blue jeans paired with my tan wedges. I reached school to see my friends waiting for me.
"Hey guys," I wished cheerfully.
"Hey," they all replied.
"Someone's looking cheery," commented Veronica and I grinned at her.
"Of course," I started, "some of us might find our soulmates."

Cheryl, Josie and Kevin nodded, the excitement visible in their eyes. We stood at the registration desk that we had set up for them with their class schedules, locker assignments and a bunch of extracurricular activities. We made casual conversation until the front door burst open and the Serpents walked in. Cheryl seemed to be staring at a girl with pink hair and I understood that she might be her soulmate because of the pink. I looked at the girl and noticed that she had two red cherries on her neck. They were obviously soulmates, but I wasn't sure. Then I saw Kevin stare at a short guy with black hair, maybe they were soulmates? Josie was looking at an extremely tall guy with spiky, black hair who had a gold microphone on her neck. I think they were soulmates as well.

I was more interested in the guy at the front. His ebony curls peeked out of a grey crown beanie. He wore a leather jacket and a fitted S t-shirt which revealed his abs from underneath. He had tied a flannel around his waist and a pair of dark jeans with suspenders hanging off. Few could pull off that look and he was that person. His eyes were gorgeous, I could stare into them forever. They were a lovely shade of blue-green and looked into mine. His tattoo interested me...

JUGHEAD'S POV

I woke up early today since it was our first day at Riverdale High. I had a few close friends: Sweet Pea, Fangs (bi) and Toni (bi but more into girls). We were close and supported each other because we were from the Southside and because we hadn't found our soulmates. Maybe they were on the Northside? I found my tattoo to be very intriguing. It was a silver, heart-shaped lock on my neck with a black bobby pin seeming to lock/unlock it on my neck. It was extremely detailed and beautiful.

Toni had this pair of red cherries prominently shown on her neck. Sweet Pea had this golden microphone on his neck. Fangs had a word etched on his wrist: 'Gay', probably his soulmate's sexuality. I got ready in my typical S t-shirt, Serpent leather jacket, crown beanie, flannel around my waist and dark jeans with hanging suspenders. Of course, one couldn't forget my combat boots.
"Hey suckers," I shouted as we mounted on our motorcycles.
"Yo," they replied while rolling their eyes, happiness evident in their eyes.
We rushed to the school and hopped off our bikes and walked to the front door.
"Ready?" I asked them and they nodded.
