I'm Just Fine

Hongjoong walked down the streets for hours and it had soon became night fall after hours. As he walked, he heard someone whimpering in an nearby alley.

"Hello"? He called, walking deeper into it. He heard a quiet voice whisper something as he got closer until he saw a young girl in a corner.

"Hey, you ok"? She shook her head, not saying anything. Hongjoong looked around before seeing a male enter.

"Where are you"? He called. The girl looked at Hongjoong.

"Help me please", she whispered.

"I'll help you, don't worry". Hongjoong placed his bag down before going towards the male.

"Hey, get out of here"! He called.

"And why should I? You hiding my girl"? The male said. 

"I said get lost"! The male chuckled and tried to push Hongjoong to the floor but he stayed in his place, a small smirk on his face. 

"Try that again, I dare ya". The male chuckled before going to push him again. Hongjoong grabbed his hands and pushed him into a wall and held him there.

"Let me go"! The male shouted. Hongjoong stared at him, squeezing his arms tighter. 

"I said let me go"! The male shouted again. Hongjoong didn't listen to him. He had no idea what he was doing, his mind going crazy and he felt himself losing control somehow.

"You deaf"? The male asked rudely. 

"I heard you loud and clear, bitch". Hongjoong moved closer to the male, covering his mouth and without a second thought, he bit down in the male's neck. He heard the male's muffled screams before they soon died down as Hongjoong drained him dry. 

"Oh my"... he heard the girl say. Hongjoong pulled away and looked at her before looking back at the male and his eyes widened.

"W-what did I just do"? He whispered, dropping the body and moving back. The girl walked over to him.

"D-don't come closer. Please... I'll hurt you", Hongjoong said.

"I don't think you'll hurt me. You saved me. Thank you".  Hongjoong looked at her.

"Was he looking for you"? He asked. The girl nodded.

"H-he wanted to hurt me... Thank you at least for saving me from him". 

"Well, your welcome. I-I gotta go. Stay safe"...

"Rose". Hongjoong smiled.

"Hongjoong. See you later". Hongjoong grabbed his bag before running off towards the forest, making his way back to the house. He was still scared on what he just did. he had never attacked a human before so he didn't know why he did. 

Hongjoong got to the house and walked in, not noticing the others in the lounge room.

"Joong there you are. We"- Seonghwa started before cutting himself off mid-sentence and stared at Hongjoong. 

"Joong, what happened? Why do you have... blood on you"? He walked over as Hongjoong began walking up the stairs before Seonghwa grabbed him.

"Joong"... he turned Hongjoong around before freezing.

"D-did you attack a human"? Seonghwa asked, wiping some of the blood off his lips. 

"Joong answer me please". Hongjoong looked down. 

"I-I...yes"... he whispered. 

"Why"?

"I-I didn't mean to... I-I was helping a young girl and I just... lost control somehow"... He soon broke down and Seonghwa pulled him into a hug.

"Hey, it's ok", he whispered.

"I-it's not. I-I killed someone... I wasn't meant to", Hongjoong spoke, letting Seonghwa pull him into a hug. Seonghwa rubbed his back, trying to calm him down. 

"It'll be ok", he whispered. Hongjoong nodded as he wiped his eyes.

"I-I also saw my parents today. At the school".

"You what"? Everyone turned to him and Keonhee walked over.

"I thought they wanted nothing to do with you".

"I thought so to. They came to the school. My mother grabbed my arm, trying to stop me from leaving. I didn't let them talk. I just left".

"If they're in town, I don't think it'll be good news", Keonhee said.

"I think your right. We'll just have to wait and see. I'm... gonna head upstairs". Hongjoong moved away from Seonghwa and headed upstairs, closing the bedroom door as he entered. He sighed and sat on the bed.

"Why did I attack him"? He whispered to himself. Hongjoong was scared. Not just of what what the others would think of him. He was scared of himself. Scared of what he would do now. 

"Joong"? Hongjoong heard Seonghwa call from the other side of the door.

"It's unlocked", Hongjoong said, looking down. The door opened and Seonghwa walked in, sitting on the bed next to him.

"You ok Joong"? Hongjoong shook his head.

"I-it's been how long since I was turned and I now attack a human? I-I don't know what's happening", Hongjoong whispered.

"I can help you. If you want my help". Hongjoong looked up at him and nodded.

"Please. I don't want to kill anyone". Seonghwa pulled him closer and hugged him.

"I'll do my best to help you. I promise". Hongjoong smiled but he thought to himself, 'Don't keep a promise you can't keep'.
