the witch hunt. [amber oneshot]

So this is a very angsty oneshot
Because me and a friend we're having an angst session and did this-

It's very short but I'd say it's pretty sad-
Also sorry that everything goes so quickly I just don't understand how to not do that-

That is what y/n thought when someone found out that they're a witch.

But they couldn't flee.
The calvery captain found it out.
A knight.

They were immediately arrested on spot.
Of course try tried to escape but
The knights were all over the place already. They got captured.
Amber saw it.

She saw it all.
How they tried to escape.
How they were roughly shoved to the ground.
How they were brought to a jail. temporarily so they could prepare for the burning.
And now,
How they will burn.
How their skin melted of their skin.

Amber stood there.
With her bow.
And their friend.
Pleading for mercy.

But if she didn't she would get burned to for siding with a witch.
She didn't have a choice.
How cruel of them.
To make their best friend burn them.

"Come on amber! Just burn them already!"

Everyone in the crown started to tell amber to just do it already.
But amber could only hear their friend.
Their friends cries and pleads.
Her arrow was charged and aimed at them.
But she couldn't do it.
Of course she couldn't.
It's her best friend!

But someone pushed her.
Non other than the calvery captain himself.

The arrow fired.

The screams of the crowd grew.

But the screams of her friend was so loud.
So much louder.

To amber at least.
Amber couldn't move at all.
Only look at their friend while they burned.

Kaeya gave amber a backpat as a "good job" sign.
But amber couldn't care less.
The only thing she could see was her friend looking at her.

They looked sad and angry,
But they mostly looked betrayed.
Betrayed by their best friend.

Then amber woke up.
It's that nightmare again.
The nightmare of what happened 5 years ago.
She decided to get up and go to a place.

Y/n favorite place to be exact.
No one other than amber knew of the small grave.
It didn't even have their ashes in the grave.
Only stuff they used to own.

"Hey.. I'm back"
...
"I'm so sorry.. and I know I've said it so many time already but it's true."
...
"I-i am so sorry!"

Amber cried.
There wasn't anyone who could hear her.
Or understand why she was so attached to the witch.
No one ever could.
She cried at the grave for 2 hours.
She still feel guilty.
Even after all those years.
