"betrayed"

"No, I was forced to! Bella was working with Riley and Victoria. Please let me explain." Edward exclaimed as he grabbed my hands with a worried expression on his face.
"I don't fucking believe you!" I spit out and began walking to my car in silence.
Although I said I didn't believe him, I was a bit suspicious. But when I thought about it I felt so bad for doubting Riley. He was there for me when I was left alone by the Cullens, he was there for me when I was lonely, he was trustable. Plus, he had already sworn that he cut contact with Victoria.
When I arrived at Charlie's house, I quickly made my way to my room. This time Riley was sitting on my reading chair.
"Hey," He smiled.
"Hey." I said, too focused on my own thoughts.
"What's wrong with you?" He asked in a worried tone.
"It's just Edward being stupid."
"What did he say?"
"He said Victoria, Bella and you were working together. As if I would believe that." I said with a shrug as I laughed a little.
Riley immediately froze in his spot. His crimson eyes held an unreadable look. It was almost as if he was caught lying, his biggest secret was found out.
"D-do you believe him?" Riley asked, stuttering a little.
"Of course not! I trust you." I smiled, looking into his eyes.
I trusted Riley so much because he was there for me when the Cullens and my so-called best friend had left me. He visited me every night, checking up on me, making me laugh. Even my anxiety was better when I was around him. There was no way I was going to believe a guy who treated me like shit.
"He's right." Riley muttered under his breath, yet loud enough for me to hear.
"W-what?"
"Victoria and Bella threatened the Cullens. I s-still work for her." Riley replied as his crimson red eyes stared at my brown ones with an expressionless face.
"Nice joke." I forced myself to laugh.
"It's not a joke Zara!" Riley yelled, his eyes wide with rage. He glanced at me one last time before turning his back and leaving through the window, leaving me all alone.
I stayed in my spot, frozen. I couldn't believe the words that came out of his mouth. Although I sensed that Edward was telling the truth, I chose not to believe my senses but that didn't change the fact that it was indeed true. I couldn't accept it. I couldn't accept that the only person who was there for me was lying to me. I couldn't believe that I let myself trust him.
I couldn't believe that I was betrayed.
Again.
A/N: HEY YALL!! I'm back, my vacation is over early. We're currently on our way back to my aunts house so I wrote the in the car. I know this is a short chapter, I didn't want it to be so long. This is just to kind of catch up. Also THERE WAS A REALLY CUTE BOY ON THE BOAT. I didn't talk to him tho. 🥲 he would look at me from time to time and like look away when we made eye contact. He was turkish but from Germany and i dont think he knows turkish or English. :( Anyways LOVE YOU ALL!!! <3
