"an annoying classmate"

"I need to tell you something Zara." She said seriously.
"Which is?" I asked with a raised brow.
"Look, I don't want you to think that I'm being jealous because we're friends but I don't think Bella is a true friend." She said with a concerned look written on her face.
"What makes you think that..?"
"Her stares, her attitude and and stuff." She answered.
I thought for a moment before replying. Bella and my parents had been friends even before we were born. Although Bella and I were pretty much polar opposites, we somehow managed to get along. I trusted her a lot but the glares, the attitude and the way she talked to me definitely had changed ever since I moved to Forks.
"I—" I took a deep breath. " I don't know, she has been acting differently recently, especially today. She's not her usual self."
"Maybe this is her usual self. Maybe she's tired of putting up a mask and acting nice." Rosalie added as if she was trying to convince me.
"I don't know Rose."
Even though I met Rose recently I knew she wasn't the type to lie, I trusted her. My friendship with Bella was a bit complicated. It was on and off, we weren't in contact that much when we were away from each other considering how she lived in Arizona and I lived in New York.

I was walking to cafeteria, feeling a bit awkward and uncomfortable since I had to sit with Bella today. I was looking at my phone's screen until I noticed someone standing in front of me.
"Hey Zara!" Alice chirped with her signature excited smile.
"Hey Alice." I smiled back at the small girl.
"Why don't you sit with us today too?"
"Oh- would that be okay?" I was hesitant about what others would think.
"Of course, we all enjoyed your company!" She stated as a matter of fact.
I nodded my head and she immediately smiled even wider if that was possible. I grabbed a fruit salad because the lunch was terrible and I wasn't really hungry. I heard my phone vibrate.
