When Aditya had returned home that day, he surprisingly found Zoya asleep. There wasn't any dinner prepared which meant that she had slept with an empty stomach. He sat beside her and caressed her hair, gently calling out her name. She didn't open her eyes, instead, she turned away from him. This confused Aditya.
"Zoya, what happened? Why didn't you eat anything?" Aditya asked.
"I am not hungry. I am sorry but I haven't made any food. I have a terrible headache", Zoya lied.
"Then why didn't you tell me? Shall we go to the doctor?" Aditya asked.
Tears flowed from Zoya's closed eyes and she didn't bother to wipe them as her back was facing him.
"I will be fine if I rest", Zoya replied.
"Sure! Take rest. If the pain increases then tell me. We will go to the doctor", Aditya said to which she simply nodded.
Flashback ends...
Aditya was shocked by it. How could he behave like this? His Zoya was his life. Why wasn't he able to understand her turmoil?
"I am so sorry. I know that this word isn't enough..."
Before he could say further, Zoya interrupted him and asked, "Why are you sorry? It's not your fault."
Though Aditya had a lot to say, he didn't say anything and let her feel comfortable. She might be in a trauma because of what happened with her. Aditya wiped her tears which were carelessly flowing down her cheeks.
"I want to sleep", Zoya muttered so slowly that she doubted whether he heard it or not.
"Sure! You want to sleep alone?" Aditya asked to which she immediately nodded in a no.
She was scared that the men would come again if she was alone.
"Okay. Let's go to my room", Aditya said and they both went to his room.
He made her lay on the bed and was about to go from there when she held his hand. He looked at her who was requesting him something through her eyes.
"Please don't leave", Zoya whispered.
Aditya held her hand and sat beside her on the bed.
"I am not going anywhere. I am here itself. Don't worry and sleep", Aditya assured her.
"Please love me", Zoya muttered.
He knew what it meant but he didn't want to take any step when she was in a vulnerable condition. He sat beside her and caressed her cheek.
"Zoya, I can't. You are in this condition and I can't..."
