After her night of fun and dancing, Ellory decided to walk along the beach and figure out if she really did have feelings for JJ. Sure they were best friends and had been extremely close since 8th grade, but what if liking him meant ruining their friendship. She didn't want to loose their witty banter, jokes, and constant hugs.
Her thoughts were suddenly interrupted by two loud voices. "Hey El! What're you doing on our side of the island." She looked up to see Rafe Cameron and his friend Kielce walking towards her. Both clearly either high or drunk. She attempted to ignore them and turned the other way.
"Hey come back here." The older boy grabbed her arm and forced her to look at him. "I haven't seen you around in a while. Where've you been?"
"Um? The cut?"
"Ahhh that's right you're a little traitor. Just leaving me in the dust while you move down to that shit hole." Rafe shook his head in disgust. "We were best friends."
"You stopped talking to me! You hate Pogues. How is this my fault?" Ellory couldn't believe the boy was talking to her after years of pretending she didn't exist. "We used to be best friends and you stopped talking to me. All because I moved to the other side of the island. So fuck off." Ellory stormed off not believing what she had just dealt with.

The water was warm around Ellory's body. She pushed forwards flipping off the camera with a huge grin. Her and her friends were testing out the drone to make sure it worked. She was under the water with Kie and John B making faces into the lense. With one final wave, she pushed off the floor of the ocean and surfaced to hear JJ and Pope bickering.
"Hey. Once we get the footage of the wreck well take it to a lawyer and file a formal claim." John B interrupted the argument.
"It's such bullshit why we have to do that." JJ groaned.
"The tether is really long." Pope observed. "We could loose it in the wrong weather."
"So we just sit around and wait for the right weather. And today is not that day." The five teens turned to look out at seas where a storm was barreling in.

To pass the time until they could search for the Merchant, Ellory and JJ decided to help Pope with grocery runs for Heyward's while Kie headed to the Wreck and John B stayed and studied the map some more. The three teens were stood at the edge of Heyward's delivery boat loading groceries on.
"Oh thank you JJ." JJ stuck his arms straight out and took the last of the groceries. "Now El, you make sure they don't get into any trouble ok?"
The small girl nodded and headed into the boat as they pulled away from the dock. As they sailed past Figure 8 the teens stared in awe over how normal it looked despite the hurricane. "Damn" She said, defeated.
