Jaymies POV

I parked my car in my usual spot at cob ham and made my way to the canteen.

"The usual please sir" I said to Mark who works in the kitchen.

"Already got it ready for you J" he smiled and handed me a plate of full English breakfast.

"You're a star" I smiled and then looked around at where to sit. I luckily managed to find a table that had no one else on it. However that didn't last long, as soon as I put my headphones in Tammy and Mason interrupted.

"You know how much I'd pay for 5 minutes peace" I whispered to myself but just loud enough for them to hear.

"We've just got a good feeling about this season you know" Tammy clapped.

"And you need to tell me this at 8am?" I shook my head.

"Hello boys" Ben then came over. "Jaymie" he huffed his head.

"Benjamin" I half smiled. "Gone back to the hair gel?" I said - referring to his hair that was in his usual gelled style.

"I said I prefer Ben" he rolled his eyes - clearly not a morning person

"I asked about the hair not your name" I spoke back. Two people who are clearly both not morning people having a conversation will never end well.

"That girl the other night liked my hair"

"Errr yeah maybe because you wore it down?" I laughed. "Check your facts before you spit back"

Ben didn't reply but just sat down opposite me. Annoyingly I found him so attractive - even with his stupid gel hairdo. His jawline was sharp and his stubble was perfectly shaven.

"N G!" Mason clapped to N'golo.

"Hello" he smiled back and sat down next to myself. Kante was very quiet and kept himself to himself but I have learnt a lot from him in the past years & having to do physio on him.

"N G has been teaching me french over the summer" I started a new conversation.

"Go on, try me" I said "what do you want me to say?"

"Ben Chilwell is the best Chelsea footballer and is also very good looking" Ben spoke up.

"Ben Chilwell est le meilleur footballeur de Chelsea et est également très beau" I said in my best french accent.

"Perfect" Kante smiled.

"See even when I'm lying I speak perfect French" I smiled smugly. Even though it wasn't totally a lie. He was a little bit beautiful.

But I would never admit that.

"Come on guys" the gaffer Frank walked into the canteen. "Time for work" he clapped.

The first match of the season was against Brighton. I wasn't the biggest fan of away days but when it's in a nice city like Brighton they made it a little better.

"Oi J, you know tomorrow Ben is gonna have to sit next to you in the bus" Mase shouted down the corridor as he was walking behind me. For the whole of last season I managed to bag a seat that no one sat next too.

"Erm how have you figured that one out?" I spun round the face him.

"New player? He gotta sit somewhere"

"Then he should sit on your lap" I rolled my eyes.

"I think you want to sit on his lap missy"

Bens POV

"Do you think I should speak to her?" I asked Mason on the way

"You could try?" He laughed. "Don't be that annoying person that speaks the whole journey to her though"

"okay Mason I'm not stupid" I laughed.

I grabbed my things out of the changing room and made my way to the bus. Jaymie was sitting on one of the back rows which just had two seats next to each other.

"Good luck bro" Tammy patted my shoulder. I took a deep breath and sat down next her.

"Alright?" She asked

"I'm alright, you alright?" I asked back.

"I'm alright" she half smiled. She then got her laptop out and began to write what looked like notes she has on everyone's health and fitness.

"If I give you a tenner will you up my score?" I joked.

"50 and you've got a deal" she joked back. The first time she has done that. I was expecting a more of a fuck off response. "Are you glad you came to Chelsea?" She then asked.

"Of course" I said. "I wouldn't of moved otherwise"

"Yeah I know, just you get some players that don't really want to move - it's more the agents or the club they are at that want them to move"

"Yeah" I huffed, "it was an easy decision - I was just scared no one would like me here"

"I think you've done alright" she half smiled

"Look at you, being all nice" I teased as I nudged her side.

"You've ruined it now" she pouted.

"I should if recorded it" I joked. "Jaymie Carter being nice to Ben Chilwell on the 26th August 2020"

"Benjamin James Chilwell" she corrected me.

"You learnt my middle name?" I winked.

"Only because it's on the system" she rolled her eyes . "don't start thinking you're special and all that" she said.

"Bet you don't know Masons middle name"

"you're stupid" she replied , proving my point completely.

She then continued to tap away on her laptop, she seemed to just do a lot more than physio for Chelsea. She was watching previous Brighton matches and writing notes on how they played and what tactics we could use against them to win. She then was watching clips from Chelsea's previous matches to see how that matches to the tactics she just wrote.

"No need to watch clips of me, I'm right here darling" I winked as I saw videos of me playing at Leicester and England on her screen.

"Im not doing it willingly" she pretended to throw up.

"Thought you didn't get paid enough to do the work your meant to do?" I said almost in retaliation of her not flirting back with me.

"Exactly" she scoffed

"Then why are you doing it?"

"Because I actually give a shit about the team" she laughed. "I seem like the only one round here"

"The gaffer seems like he knows what he's doing" I said - referring to Frank.

"He will be gone before the end of the season" she half laughed , half whispered so no one would hear.

"You think?" I said, shocked at what she said "fr and a Chelsea legend, they can't just do that"

"You clearly don't know how brutal football really is"
