Ben's POV
We arrived in Brighton a couple of hours before the match started. 4:30 kick offs were my favourite. It meant you didn't have to get up mega early and you didn't get home mega late like when it's an 8pm kick off.
Jaymie handed Frank and piece of paper in the changing room before he then gave us a talk about the tactics that we needed to use for the match. Presumably the tactics that Jaymie wrote out.
"right boys , let's do this" he clapped.
It was my first match in a Chelsea shirt and I was so nervous. I wanted to prove that I was a good signing to the fans and that ultimately I was worth the money that they paid for me.
After we took the group photo Jaymie came out of the tunnel with her iPad and an earpiece in. She took her seat a couple rows above the coaches and took a deep breath before she seemed to calm down.
"An assist and a clean sheet ain't too bad for a debut huh?" I shrugged as I walked into the changing rooms.
"Don't get too cocky" Jaymie rolled her eyes. "We were hardly playing someone like Man City"
"Good result guys" Frank clapped as he walked into the changing room, totally ignoring Jaymies comments. "Let's keep this up for the rest of the season ok?"
I could see Jaymie roll her eyes as she took herself a beer out of the fridge and sit down next to Mason.
"Who has let Tammy be in charge of music again this season" Jaymie spoke as Tammy put some music on.
"Could be worse - it could be yours" Tammy stuck his tongue out at her.
"You're tough on the team you know?" I said to Jaymie.
"Because I want us to win" she half laughed as if that was obvious. "Whats the point of being at one of the best teams in the world and then playing average?"
"But we did win?"
"You're telling me you left Leicester to join Chelsea to get a clean sheet against Brighton?" She sniggered "great move" she added as she stood up and threw her beer bottle in the bin.
Jaymie seems to always have a comeback for anything and everything that you say to her. I've never quite met a girl like that before, maybe it was because she wasn't 'starstruck' buy us footballers or maybe that was just her personality. Either way - it intrigued me.
I grabbed my bag from under my seat which had my Chelsea tracksuit in. As I was changing I could feel someone's eyes looking at me, not like I was insecure as I've been in changing rooms with other people my whole life. I looked up and quickly saw Jaymie looking over from the other end of the room, as soon as she saw me look up, she looked in the opposites direction.
"Bro I saw that" Mase hit me over my arm. "Jay was so checking you out" he half whispered.
"I think it was more a look of hate" I brushed his comment off. "She wouldn't fancy someone like me, she's already said she doesn't like footballers"
"Jaymies just lying to protect herself" Mason explained. "I know her more than anyone in the world, trust me"
"I don't know bro" I huffed, not wanting to get myself excited.
"Imma make it happen - even if it kills me" he dramatically said.
Jaymies POV
It was the day after our win against Brighton and the gaffer let us have a late start as a reward for our win. I parked my car that was as usual making some kind of funky noise in my usual spot and made my way up to my office. I did my usual routine of cleaning my massage bed and lighting a few candles to make the smell of sweaty footballers disappear.
"Mounty" I smiled as Mason came abruptly through the door, killing the nice calming atmosphere I had just created.
"Elllooo sweetheart" he smiled.
"Someone's in a good mood?" I laughed as he laid down on his back. "Did you get laid or something last night?" I added.
"No" he chuckled.
"Then what?"
"Nothing" he said mischievously.
"Mase I swear to god" I pushed a little too hard on his leg where I knew it would be sore.
"Ow okay!" He flinched. "I've been thinking about you"
"You're having a laugh?"
"No not in that way" he panicked. "I've been thinking about you checking out Ben in the changing room last night"
"Never me" I pretended to throw up.
"Fuck off, I saw it with my own eyes" he argued.
"I was daydreaming and my eyes just happened to be where he was standing"
"Jay come on" Mason turned round so he was facing me.
"Mason" I looked him in the eyes. "I do not fancy Ben Chilwell"
"Whatever, I can't wait to be proven right"
I was so pissed off that Mason saw me checking Ben out. I really thought I was being subtle. I was also annoyed at myself that I find Ben attractive , I said to myself I would never go back to a footballer - not after last time.
After I finished working on Mason , Ben walked in.
"How's the ankle?" I asked him as he laid on the bed.
"Honestly?"
"Obviously" I half laughed. "Would help my job a bit"
"It's never felt this good after a match - I don't know what you did" he smiled and rubbed the ankle.
"Told you, I know what I'm doing"
"I never doubted that" he winked which caused my heart to do a little flutter.
Gross.
"so" he said , breaking the silence as I was massaging his shoulders "You really not interested in footballers?"
"Nope" I bluntly replied.
"We ain't all assholes"
"I know that" I half laughed "just all the nice ones are taken"
"I'm nice"
"You haven't proven that to me yet" I rolled my eyes, even though he couldn't see my face.
"Let me try then"
