Jaymies POV
"How's the night been then?" I got interrupted from my thoughts and cigarette by Ben sitting himself down next to me by the firepit he had in his garden.
"Not bad, you've exceeded my expectations Benjamin" I half smiled, looking out the corner of my eyes to see his eyes firmly looking at mine.
"Give me one date" he blurted out. "Just dinner or something"
"I don't date footballers"
"Just because that one guy fucked you over, doesn't mean I will" he argued. "Not all footballers are the same"
"Do you know how many times I will be in my office or cleaning the chill out zone and you guys think I have my headphones in? Do you I know how many times I've overheard conversations between you footballers about what you did on the weekend ? Or when you were in another country and your wives or girlfriends are at home , looking after your children and your house ?" I sniggered
"I've never done that"
"But you must get where I'm coming from?" I turned to face him.
"Just don't let the fact that your heart has been broken once stop you from falling again" He played with a ring which I had on my first finger.
"Have you ever had your heartbroken?" I asked.
"I can't say I have , no" he huffed.
"Me and him, we were supposed to be each other's , it was us , we were meant to be us. But he tore himself away from me, and I bled. I had to stitch myself back together without him. And it was, agonising. Devistating , it really was, and so fucking painful. And every night, every dream I had, every headline I saw , every match that I watched of him. Made those stitches unravel, wounds opening up, my blood stained everything I touched. Every time I would see online that he was with a different girl , I'd feel a part of me break again. That feeling felt like it was never going to end" i took a deep breath "so when I hear the guys laughing away about what they got up to on the weekend , I remember that feeling , it comes back in one big wave. And that is Benjamin James Chilwell why I will never date a footballer" I took one final puff of my cigarette and threw it into the firepit.
Sick of explaining myself to Ben , or was it the fact that I knew he was right - the fact that I should give him a chance. I got up and made my way over to Mason.
"You alright sweet?" He asked me , obviously noticing the look on my face.
"I'm fine" I half smiled. "I think I'm going to head off" I added.
"How comes? I've never seen Jaymie Carter leave a party early" he laughed.
"I've just got a bit of a headache" I lied but rubbed my head.
"Do you want me to come with you?" He asked.
"I'll be fine" I smiled and gave him a hug. "I'll see you on Monday"
Bens POV
"Bro your party was so good!" Tammy hit me on the shoulder in the car park of cobham on Monday morning.
"It was nothing" I shook it off. I hadn't been able to get the conversation with Jaymie out of my head that I hadn't even thought of the rest of the party.
"Did I see you speaking to Jaymie?" He asked.
"It was nothing" i huffed. I got my bag out of the boot of my car and walked with Tammy into the chill room.
"Well what happened?"
"I asked her for just one date, nothing even fancy but just to prove to her that footballers can be nice guys but it didn't work"
