Chapter 20 | Mom's curiosity & a "new" family member

*In the morning at y/n's*

Melani: Morninggg!
Y/n: Morning mom.
Melani: Hey what happened? You sound sad.
Y/n: It's just that I have a feeling that my friends are keeping something from me. Like a secret. And Tom and Jacob too.
Melani: Oh sweetie. Listen. Even if they are, they will never hurt you. If they are, they are doing this because it's good for you. I haven't seen more connected friends than you guys are. I'm sure they will never do anything to you.
Y/n: You sure?
Melani: Of course I'm sure! I'll call Tom and Jacob. And you, eat your breakfast. It's your big day today!
Y/n: Okay!

*She actually didn't have a feeling that they're hiding something from her (because she already knows the whole situation with Lola) but she was sad because of Dylan and she did not want to tell her mum*

*Later*

Y/n: Mom!
Melani: Yes?
Y/n: I'm going out with Kayla and Adysson.
Melani: What about Dylan?
Y/n: Actually we... Aren't friends anymore...
Melani: What?! What happened?
Y/n: Long story... Anyway, can I go? I'll be back at 4 pm so I can get ready for prom.
Melani: Of course.
Y/n: Thanks love you.

*In the same time at Dylan's house at the dinner*

Kayla: Hey mom?
Jennifer: Yes?
Kayla: Can I and Adysson hang out with Y/n after lunch?
Jennifer: What about you Dylan?

*Dylan doesn't say anything, he's just staring at his plate and not eating the food*

Kayla: Um, h-he's not going. You know. Girls time. *laughs nervously*
Jennifer: Um, of course, yeah. But be home by 4 pm so y/n can get ready for prom.
Kayla: Sure we will. Bye mom, love you! Come on, Adysson.
Jennifer: Love you, bye!

*Jennifer and Dylan stays alone at the table*

Jennifer: Oh I can't wait to see you with y/n! You two were talking about this since you found out for prom! I'm sure you're going to have fun!

*Dylan doesn't say anything*

Jennifer: Dylan what's wrong with you?
Dylan: Nothing.
Jennifer: Yes it is something. Tell me.
Dylan: I told you it's nothing!
Jennifer: Dylan. You can tell me.
Dylan: It's nothing! I'm going to my room.
Jennifer: Dylan!

*Dylan walks away. Jennifer calls Melani, right when kids (y/n, Kayla nad Adysson) left the house (they left it at the same time)*

Jennifer: Melani?
Melani: Hey I was just about to call you. What do you need?
Jennifer: I want to talk about Dylan. He has been acting strange today. What about y/n?
Melani: Yes in the morning. But she told me that is because of her friends. Probably not because of Dylan don't worry.
Jennifer: Wait you said friends?
Melani: Yes?
Jennifer: And you said not because of Dylan?
Melani: Yes? What are you aiming for?
Jennifer: That sounded like Dylan and y/n aren't friends anymore.
Melani: Yea that's what I wanted to talk about. Y/n said Dylan and her aren't friends anymore.
Jennifer: What?! But why?
Melani: That was my reaction when I found out too.
Jennifer: Did she tell you why?
Melani: No. I tried but she said just "It's a long story".
Jennifer: Hm. I'll try to talk to Dylan. Maybe he's sad because of that.
Melani: Ok. I'll try to talk about this with y/n when she comes back.
Jennifer: Ok. See ya at prom!

*Outside*

Y/n: Hey girls!
Kayla: Hey y/n!
Adysson: Hi!
Kayla: How are you? *happily*
Y/n: Excellent! I'm looking forward to prom!
Adysson: Me too! I'm really happy that we can come to watch you! I'll finally see how's it!
Y/n: Weren't you at Kayla's?
Adysson: No I was sick and I couldn't come. But she said it was fun.
Kayla: It was! It's the best part of school! However, did Aris tell you what are we going to do at prom?
Y/n: No. What?
Kayla: Oh yes he said he's going to tell you on prom. Well... *tells her what are they going to do* Is it okay for you?
Y/n: It's great! Now the whole school will know what Lola truly is. A player.
Kayla: Great! It was my idea. *proud*

*They are talking for few more hours*

Y/n: Oh it's quarter to 4. I gotta go home.
Kayla: Yeah we should go too.
Adysson: We have to prepare for prom! I'm sure you're gonna look beautiful!
Kayla: Yeah Dylan will be so sorry he chose Lola and not you.
Adysson: Well he chose her but then he left her and-
Kayla: Adysson! Stop saying he left her! Do you want y/n to be sad?
Adysson: Oh no sorry y/n I didn't-
Y/n: No no it's okay. I'm fine. Well, um, I'll go now. See you later at your house, right?
Kayla: Oh yes! I have a big present for y'all!
Y/n: Ooo can't wait to see it! Bye!
Adysson & Kayla: Bye!

*At y/n's*

Y/n: What do you think about this dress mom?

Melani: Oh God I think it's... I-I'm speechless. *smiles* Tom, Jacob, come here!

*They come*

Melani: Look at your sister's beauty!
Y/n: Mom!
Tom: You're gorgeous y/n!
Jacob: Agree!
Y/n: I just need a make-up.
Mina: Oh that would be my work!

*Everyone turns around*

Y/n: Omg Mina!!!
Mina: Where's my favorite cousin huh?? *laughs and y/n jumps in her arms*
Y/n: What are you doing here??
Mina: Did you really think I'm going to skip your prom? *laughs*
Y/n: Did you come here from France??
Mina: Actually no. Me and your dad were in Belgium. He got a new company there.
Y/n: Omg how nice! Is he there too?
Mina: Mmmm maybe😏
Y/n: OMG HE'S HERE!
Mina: I said maybe!
Melani: Helloooo we don't have time for this, y/n has to go in 2 hours!
Mina: Well let's do your make-up then!
