Where is she? Where did she go? I can't see her. I can't see her. I can't see her.

Evelyn did this once, back at the Celeste household, but now she's gone again. She's gone, and I can't see her. Where did she go? And why?

The Piper.

Durgat. The Piper took her. That durgated man took her, and now I can't keep an eye on her. All I can do is wait for her to return. And watch someone else.

My attention is drawn to the crew. Aster Wilmick. Vena Aece. Nat Rookwood. Family? Foes? Or simply allies? And allies for what? They're not fighting for anything. Their job is over.

Aster looks around, bewildered. "Where did she go? Where's Evelyn?"

"Evelyn!" Nat calls.

"Shut it!" Vena hisses. "We can't just declare her name around Camden. Are you a fool?" She glares at the boy, her eyes icy and sharp. Despite her superior stance, though, she twists her hands anxiously, as if equally worried about Evelyn.

At least I can trust that the people she has associated with cares about her. Almost all of them.

I can see Aster swallow, though it's small and barely noticeable. I observe his stance, his posture, his movements. They're rigid, as they almost always are, but his eyes. They're filled with caution and wariness. Fear.

Or is it love?

Part of me wants to spit in the man's face. To berate him about his cruel actions concerning Evelyn's grief. He has no right. Or else he has no decency.

I can't seem to figure the young man out, but, at the same time, he's entirely predictable. Traumatized. Angry. Vengeful. Or is it his desire to save? His desire for redemption.

I may be a forced empath, but the perks for that is the fact that I have become used to identifying emotions. But Aster's feelings are tricky. I can't tell if he's angry, or if he's desperate. Fearful. Is he terribly in love? Or is he terribly afraid?

Does he fear for Evelyn's safety? Or does he fear the unusual? However, I daresay Aster Wilmick has seen his fair share of the unusual.

I can't tell if Aster is a man to honor, or a man to disgrace. Probably both, as most are.

Aster's eyes dart around, as if hoping that Evelyn will appear again at any moment. Waiting for this girl he so crudely cares about.

To me, Aster's limited affection for Evelyn is quite intolerable. He's terribly unfitting, and I think she should try elsewhere. However, it's not like I truly know the man. Or boy. We may call him a boy. Aster Wilmick, that boy, is a person I don't really know. I suppose I shouldn't judge.

But I still do.

I can't tell if Aster is hiding secret affections for Miss Tiras, or if he's just terribly apathetic. However, I can surely tell that Evelyn harbors unwanted feelings for the boy. Hopefully she will be rid of those soon, for I do not see many prospects that concern Mr. Wilmick at this time.

What I'm saying is this: she could do much better.

However, I shouldn't be so distracted by musing over the uncanny relationship between Miss Tiras and this young man. I should be concerned by the disappearance of Miss Tiras.

If the Piper took her and I realize that, then that would mean he didn't take her to a timeless zone. Not like last time. And that makes me wonder why? Why would the Piper not care to move her to a timeless zone?
