Ten

Soleil's POV

"I'm really gonna miss you Soleil." Alana says.

It was the day before I was leaving to go stay with my mom and Alana was helping me do some last minute packing.

"I'm gonna miss you too but you'll see me during the holidays." I tell her. "And we'll always keep in touch."

"You better not forget about me." Alana says.

"How could I forget about you." I say. "We've been best friends since forever I could never forget about you."

The two of us hug and I feel myself crying a little bit. It never hit me how much I'll miss everything until now. Alana leaves an hour later and once she leaves my dad comes into my room.

"All packed up I see." He says sitting down on my bed and I nod.

"Yup." I say.

It gets awkwardly silent between us before he breaks the silence.

"You still mad at me?" He asks.

"A little bit." I answer. "I can't believe you made it seem like she was dead for all those years and you knew she wasn't."

"I just didn't want you getting hurt." My dad says to me.

"I know you didn't but I still had a right to know who my mom is." I say.

"I know I'm sorry Lei." My dad says sighing.

He opens his arms for a hug and I accept laying my head on his chest.

"You wanna have one last movie night together?" He asks and I nod.

"Can we watch Tangled?" I ask.

"Sure we can." He answers.

The next morning I had to wake up at eight because my flight was at ten. Thankfully my dad and I went to bed fairly early last night.

"I know that we haven't exactly had the best relationship but I am going to miss you." Lisa tells me as she helps put my suitcases in the car.

"Thanks Lisa." I say. "I guess I'll miss you and the twins too."

"I'll accept that." She says laughing.

The ride to the airport was silent. I was still tired and so was my dad. He did stay with me the entire time at the airport until it was time for me to board the plane.

"So this is really happening." My dad says.

"Yeah but dad you're going to see me again." I say.

"I know I know it's just I'm going to miss you so much." He gives me a hug and then kisses my forehead.

"I love you Lei." He says.

"I love you too." I say and I walk to get on the plane.

Toni's POV

I was on my way to the airport when Soleil called me.

"Hey mom my flight just landed." She says.

"Shit." I mumble. "I'm like ten minutes away can you wait?"

"Yeah mom it's fine." Soleil says.

"Are you sure?"

"Mom you worry way too much it's only ten minutes I'll be fine." Soleil says.

I made it the airport fifteen minutes later. It would've been ten but traffic was crazy. The first thing Soleil does when she sees me is hug me.

"I missed you so much." She says.
