Eren moved his hand after he made it clear that he makes the decisions around here, not me. I was in fact, his pet, and there isn't anything I can do about it. I looked back at Reiner and continued walking towards him.
"Hey!"
As I approach Reiner, I suddenly feel a lot more at ease.
"Hey y/n. Did you manage to sleep well?"
"I slept okay. Not the best sleep I've had, but at least I slept at all."
"It's so strange seeing all these people together. It's a lot."
A lot of people? This is nothing compared to the masses of guests I regularly used to see at grisha's mansion ballroom.
"Uh, I guess so, yea."
"Oh right. I guess that I should mention that we usually don't get together in this household. We live separate private lives from each other."
"Oh, I see. Then may I ask why everyone is here?"
"There you go again with the formality. Anyways, Eren wanted everyone to meet his 'new pet.' Of course, we already met yesterday."
'Pet.' There it is again. This word makes me clench my teeth.
I feel a hand grab my shoulder and pull me back.
"Hey. That's enough friendly time. I thought I told you to make it quick."
"We're in the middle of a conversation you can't just-"
"I can do whatever I want. Go get some food."
"I just woke up I don't really feel like eating lunch food right now-"
"Did you hear what I said, Pet? I said go. Listen to your owner."
I rip Eren's grip from my shoulder and walk away, visibly annoyed. I hate the feeling of being controlled like a pet.
As I walk towards the table, I notice a brown-haired girl, stacking a mountain of food on a singular plate.
"Sasha, that's too much! You got to leave some for other people too."
"I do?"
"Yea, c'mon pick two more things."
"ONLY TWO?"
"Yes, only two."
"Why Connie?!"
"C'mon stupid, hurry up and pick. I'm missing the movie."
I wander over to the bowls of food after the two had walked away. The girl took almost everything. I reach for a plate and scoop up the remainder of crumbs. I can feel Eren's eyes on me as I do.
I look for an open spot on the couch. I go to the opposite side of Eren. I wouldn't want him pulling any funny moves. I duck under the tv as I sneak across to an open seat. I sit uncomfortably and tense. Eren's bitchass won't stop looking at me.
The movie isn't that interesting to be completely honest, though everyone around me seems to be quite invested.
"Psst, hey. I'm Hange, nice to meet you."
"Uh hi, I'm y/n. Why are you whispering?"
Hange seemed quite intrigued by the film. Why did they choose now to introduce themself?"
"You might want to cover your feet."
"What?"
"Grab that blanket and cover your feet."
"Huh? Why?"
"Erwin's been looking at them for 20 minutes. Look I set a timer, that's a new record.
"..."
"He's got this thing with feet. He takes pictures and stares at them. We've seen him go into your room at night with a camera."
"What the hell."
"Shhhhhh."
"Why did you wait till now to tell me?"
"Yeah my bad. He's done it to all of us though."
"That's fucking abnormal."
"Mhm. He keeps a safe of pictures. We've tried to get him help and tried to get into the safe. But nothing works anymore. We just treat him like a normal person now. It's the right thing to do."
I reach for the blanket and lay it over my feet. I watch as Erwin's eyes suddenly dart up and scan the rest of the room for feet, before going back to watching tv. I still feel incredibly tired. I turn around and scan the kitchen for a coffee maker of some sort.
I spot a silver tea tin, in the corner where the countertops connect. Tea will hold me over for now.
