Chapter 34
Chase's Pov

I didn't take my eyes off of Zach's truck, seeing how broken she was even more when Zach drove off. My heart never felt hurt, betrayed, pained, that Zach would do that.

I went back into the school after James came out to see what happened, "What was that about..?" James said as he ran to catch up to me. He knew how I felt but I didn't want to be reminded of how I didn't ask her right there then.

Taking out my phone I dialed AJ's girlfriend Tisha. After two rings she answered,
"Hello?"
"Hey Tis."
"Chase? How's it going? How's the girl?"
"Not good, can you meet up at my Log Cabin."
It took her a while to respond but she huffed and then she agreed to meet me there, so now I've texted Ry, about what the plan was but first let's go to the batting cages.

Eli, our batting coach after school if Zach wasn't in the shop... Which, if I did go I would've punched him till he couldn't breathe. Hearing the baseball hit the bat made a satisfying sound and the ball went flying. After a couple of hits later we went to my Log Cabin.

Tis was sitting on the porch swing stringing her guitar. Playing Hotel California by Eagles. Which was my childhood song with Lisa.

"So what's this idea of you winning her heart over?" She said while still playing it.
I looked at her, and thought about it, "I want it to be like her." I said as I unlocked the Cabin. Being welcomed by the warm smell of apple cinnamon.

I didn't realize it till I went into my own world when I missed the call from Lisa. I smiled down at my phone. I walked out while swiping my thumb to call her back.

"Hello love." Her cheerful voice made my heart skip a beat.
"Hey, erm what's up?" I said trying not to let my feelings about her spell out.

"Oh, Zach took me to my doctor's office that I totally forgot and wanted you to take me, before I found out about you and Lexi." The way she said Lexi's name made my blood run cold.

"Babygirl, now why would I go for her when my heart clearly belongs to someone better?" I said, she giggled, God I missed her giggles.
"Oh, um, about that... I-"

"Hey, would you want to go for dinner?" I said before she could finish her sentence, I took the time and took the opportunity to ask her.

She went silent for two minutes and squealed. I laugh a little when I hear her tryin' to get her breathing back together.

"Yes, my dearest love, I'm free tonight." I can tell she's smiling nonstop and her face is bright red through the phone.

"Let me guess, you can't stop smiling and you can't control your red tomato face?"
She stuttered before replying," Uh, no no, t-totally not. Pfff, No. You are."

"Nice try pumpkin, see you tonight." With that said we hung up and I went back into the Cabin where I'll take her to and ask her and spill everything.
