I was laying in my bed reading a book when I hear my phone going off. I looked at the screen to see that it was Hawks. Again. I turned my phone off and shoved it into my drawer and continued to read my book. I was home alone cause Shinso went to the bookstore to chill and get some more books while my dads went to a hero meeting so I was left home alone. After a few more minutes of reading I heard the doorbell ring. I sighed and got up putting my bookmark in my book. I walked downstairs and walked to the front door and opened it just to see the person I didn't want to see. Hawks. I quickly slammed the door in his face before he could say or do anything. Then I hear him knocking on the door. He was doing it constantly. I sigh, finally getting tired of it. I went back to the door and swung it open.
I saw his eyes light up before quickly saying, "I'm sorry you had to go through that but I assure you I don't want anything like that with you. I think of you as a sister not a lover." He then steps forward and attempts to hug me. I quickly grab his am and throw him to the ground. "Too soon." I said and slammed the door in his face before running to my room and covering myself with my blanket and attempted to fall asleep. I guess it worked cause I woke up to the smell of one of my favorite foods. Tempura, which is batter-covered and fried veggies and meat. I licked my lips instantly and threw my blanket off of me and ran downstairs.
I pushed Shinso out of the way and ran into the kitchen but slipped because it was titled floor and I was wearing socks.
After talking with Shinso I went back downstairs and decided to watch tv. After a few minutes I could hear cluttering in the kitchen behind me.
All of a sudden Aizawa's head popped out from around the corner. "Hey Rika, do you mind going into town and getting some more chocolate chips? I am trying to make some cookies for Mic but I found out we don't have any chocolate." He pouted a bit before looking hopefully at me. I sighed and got up from the couch before patting his shoulder and saying. "Don't worry dad, I will fulfill your mission." He smiled and disappeared back into the kitchen. I then left our house and walked into the city.
I got to the store and felt the air conditioning blow over my skin. It wasn't too hot outside, but it was still welcome after walking through town. I went straight to the sweets aisle. The chocolate chips were only a little ways into the aisle, so I got those quickly and tried to speed walk out of there but my vice caught my eye and I stopped dead. Damnit, why did Higashi have to look so appetizing, sitting there on the shelf? I walked backwards and put my hand against the shelf where the sugary candies were held. Oh, why not, nobody was going to deny me this. I took a bag and held it with the chocolate chips. Then I took one more, noticing a sign that said buy one, get one half off.
At the cash register, I placed the sweets on the conveyor and put my card into the credit reader. "Someone likes sugar, huh? The sweeter the diet, the sweeter the personality!" I looked up to see the cashier smiling at me. "Huh?" I said, even though I'd heard him perfectly well. "Please don't make me repeat that. It was corny as hell," he said with a grin. I tilted my head as if I couldn't understand. He sighed but kept smiling at me. "The sweeter the diet-" I cut him off. "Stop while you're ahead." I said, not in a mean way though. He nodded and said, "Can do." He scanned both bags of higashi and the bag of chocolate chips and put them into a larger plastic bag. I paid and scooped up the bag. "Hey, do you-" I heard him start. "No, I don't want a membership. Thank you, have a nice day!" I told him. His face fell and he waved half-heartedly as I left. I knew that hadn't been what he was about to ask, but I didn't really want to turn him down and see yet another hope ruined because I couldn't reciprocate feelings.
I got home and gave Dad the chocolate chips. "You're a lifesaver, Rika. Thank you." I nodded. "Of course dad. Need any help?" He shook his head, turning back to the batter. His hair fell forward, and I noticed it swooping dangerously close to the cookie mix. I reached onto the counter and grabbed a hair tie. I walked up behind him and tied his hair back. He turned and wrapped his free arm around me. The other hand was stirring the batter. "Thanks again, Rika. I appreciate it. Do you want me to repay you for the chocolate chips?" I shook my head. "Nah. I get to eat the cookies, so I expect them to be good!" He smirked and said, "You know they will be." "I do." I walked up to my room with the bag and pulled out my bags of condensed, hardened sugar. The receipt stuck to one, and I threw it out without even glancing at the phone number scrawled on the back. I slit one of them open and popped a sweet into my mouth. Worth the 2,461¥, for sure. I went back into the living room and sat by Mic and we talked and watched the tv for a little while it was slowly getting darker outside. Right as the sun was almost down I decided to sneak in a quick walk before bed. "Hey I am going on a walk, when I get back I am going to go to bed." I informed Mic and Aizawa as I got my shoes on and walked out the front door. I walked into the city where there were a lot of small restaurants and bars. As I was walking I noticed not many people were out but like only three or two people out on the street.
