Miitopia belongs to Nintendo, enjoy!

Eternal's world was vast and beautiful, but also full of doubt. Her power was great, but unlike the guardian, hers was always acting up. She tried to help others, but some unforeseen thing would happen and cause trouble. Once, she came across a child who had broken hid mother's favorite vase, and Eternal decided to try and repair it. Using her magic, she bid the vase to come back together, only for the shards to fly everywhere and cause mass chaos. The boy's mother did not understand her son's plight, and punished him. Eternal could do nothing but watch, for she could not be seen by certain people. The boy pleaded with her to help, but Eternal did not wish to cause more pain. So she left, and the boy went to bed with no dinner.

Another time, she found a young man and his puppy playing in the fields. She wanted to join them. She wished to connect with at least one person, to be their friend. So she joined in on their game of fetch. But Eternal threw the ball too far, and the puppy fell into the river. The owner managed to save him, but ignored Eternal's apologies and went home cold and wet.

A third time, she overheard the sound of wedding bells, and saw a newlywed couple dancing and celebrating and having fun. She wished to congratulate them, so she tried to surprise them with fireworks. But her magic went awry, and the decorations caught fire. After it was extinguished, the celebration ended sooner than planned, and Eternal was given a harsh scolding by the bride and groom.

She went home to the guardian, with her eyes on the ground and her face downcast. In a tiny voice, she asked him, "Why is it so hard for me to be like you? What's wrong with me?"

The guardian only held her close in silence... unable to form the words upon seeing her pain, it was all he could do.

The heroes stopped for a rare moment of rest at the Traveler's Hub, where they gathered round and listened to the guardian's story. "I was the creator of Old Miitopia, and The Eternal," he explained. "My world was a lonely one, so I created a companion. She was blessed with magical power and skill, just like me. However..."

"It got to her head?" Akira guessed, but to his surprise, the guardian shook his head.

"No, actually. It was... something worse. Something terrible. Horrid." The guardian lowered his head and said quietly, "...It was my fault."

"What are you talking about?" Cadence asked.

"I am the one who caused her to turn on the world that I created. I... I gave her pain."

"It doesn't matter now," Akira told the group. "We still need to get some rest and find the New Elites of wind, ice, and water, and get enough power to defeat The Eternal forever."

"Fortunately, the New Elite of wind is right here," the guardian told them. "Great Sage Harmoni, I believe it is time."

"Yes, of course." Harmoni stepped forward, staff in hand. "My ancestor, Gale, had the power over wind, and that power has carried over to me."

"So, all that's left is ice and water. But who's the New Elite in those elements?" Ethan asked.

"I will provide a hint: you can find the one of water in Nightmare Tower."

"Nightmare Tower it is, then." Akira got up to leave.

"Wait. Where are you going?" Apollo asked him.

"I can do this myself. If we all get killed, our fight is over. So..." He grabbed his wand and turned to the rest of the group, "if I don't make it... tell Janice I said hi."

Without another word, Akira made his exit. "I pray he is safe," said the guardian, "for Janice may be in a difficult place right now..."

                                                                         ...

Okay, we're here. Now what is it this time?

Create another monster. Something new. Impress me.

Janice held out her hand, thinking of a monster she hadn't yet created. She'd had a lot of practice, and now she was skilled enough to make things along the line of General Charlotte or Ambre Frog. A pang went through her heart as she remembered the friends she had left behind.

What ails you?

...Nothing. I just... really miss my friends. How do we know if I'll ever see them again?

You know I won't hurt them. You made me promise as such.

I know. But still... I feel bad for putting them through this.

...You know, Janice... I used to be like you. Kindhearted. Always trying to help others.

You showed me. It never worked out.

Yes, but I did not show you my other repeated attempts. Let me reveal to you... the cause of my pain.

The guardian confesses! Harmoni is a wind sage! Akira goes alone to Nightmare Tower! And Author-chan seems to love acting like a sports announcer at the end of these chapters! 🙄

Anyway, I can definitely say that this story will be much, MUCH shorter than the other two... my goal is fifteen chapters, but I don't know if it will reach that. I'm sorry in advance.

OTHER anyway, the next chapter will reveal the New Water Elite, and I can safely say that I have quite the surprise in store for you guys after this story is over...

Peace out!
