No flashback this time. Also Akira's gonna break the fourth wall because that's fun.

Enjoy!

Akira, Ethan, Apollo, and Jean-Luc wandered through Powdered Peaks, now known as Depression in its twisted form. They could find Flora's weapon here, if they looked hard enough.

"...Did everything just get quiet?" Apollo asked nervously. Sure enough, all had gone silent.

"Weird..." Ethan said. "Well, we can't get distracted. We still need to find Flora's weapon and get the heck out of here."

"Wait a second," Akira cut in, stopping in his tracks. "Am I the only one who feels like we're being watched?"

"Well, I..." Jean-Luc began.

Suddenly, thorn-covered vines burst out of the ground and tore apart the very earth below them. A deep hole was formed, which they all fell through without time to even scream. Landing on their rear ends, they found themselves stuck in a pit with no way out. "Great! Now what?!" Jean-Luc demanded in frustration.

"...I think we just found our next boss fight," Akira murmured in fear. Before them was a flower enemy, but this was one that they would not stop to admire. The blood red petals looked almost like fangs, and the thorny vines that brought them here flicked around menacingly.

"What is that thing?!" Apollo asked. "It doesn't look like any normal monster!"

"Er... I believe that's... my pet," Flora said with embarrassment. "Or it was. The Eternal resurrected it, not as it used to be, but as a beast. I fear you must defeat it to move forward."

"Fine by me." Akira raised his wand. "Let's cut it down... at the root. Pun entirely intended."

"Oh, Akira, really?" Ethan groaned.

"Fight first, make bad jokes later," Jean-Luc snapped.

Fire attacks were very much their friend here, as Akira and Ethan used Explosion and Fire to their advantage. Jean-Luc made do with Whirlwind Blades and other sharp attacks, and Apollo kept the team going with his healing abilities.

When the plant went down, a fan made of leaves appeared. "Ah! My fan has returned," Flora said as she floated toward it. "Please, take it and give it to my descendant. Soon my role will be fulfilled."

Akira grabbed the fan, and before Ethan could teleport them all out, he turned to the former Elite of earth. "So, I just have one question. Do you... miss the world you left behind?"

Flora seemed surprised by the query. "Well... I do wish it could be returned. I truly do. But some things cannot be undone. Life always moves forward, even if we wish it not."

Akira nodded and went back over to the others. "I suppose you're right," he said before they were all teleported out of the pit.

Yes, the plant joke was intentional. Fight me.

Peace out!
