Chapter 13: Dark

Enjoy! We're getting close!

As they moved through the twisted Galados Isle, the next team (which consisted of Akira, Cadence, Lazarus, and Adiran, who had regrouped) searched along with Eclipse. "I still can't believe I'm doing this again," the former Dark Lord moaned. "I hate fighting." 

"Vhat you did is a thing of the past," Lazarus informed him. "Right now, ve face something much bigger." 

"I know, but still... I owe Janice for helping me out of that predicament. And now I have to fight her? Not exactly the payback I envisioned." 

"To be fair, I was in control most of the time," Akira reminded him. "The same can be said for Miss Harmoni." 

"Whatever happened in the past doesn't matter," Cadence told them. "We have to find Eclipse's weapon, find Janice, and save her along with the world. So stop complaining and start looking!"

"We're here," Eclipse cut in. "My pet should arrive any moment now." 

Right on cue, a midnight black snake appeared out of nowhere, startling all of them but Eclipse. "Your pet is a SNAKE?!" Cadence protested, hiding behind Lazarus.

"Do you have something against snakes?" Eclipse asked, though it was a rhetorical question. "You must do battle against it if you are to obtain my weapon."

"Fine. As long as it's not poisonous," Akira muttered.

When the battle was won, Eclipse's weapon duo—a naginata paired with some shurikin—manifested itself. "These will be safe in the hands of Lillian," the Dark Elite told them. "Bring them to her at once." 

"Not a problem," Adiran said to him with a nod. "The debt to Janice will not go unpaid." 

I skipped the battle for two reasons:

1. I hate snakes. 😖

2. I got bored coming up with fighting strategies.
