I would have never guessed how my night ended up the way it did.

The thought of having a normal life after, never even crossed my mind.

~

I tucked the stack of Japanese history papers into my over-the-shoulder book bag. I pushed my bento box to the side, to make room for the assignments.

Asahi didn't show up for class, which isn't like him. He'd never miss a class unless he really needed to. It's not so much of him being a goodie-two-shoes, he was just afraid of getting scolded by the teachers.

I could hear a pair of shoes screeching around from inside the gym. I walked down the short path and up the small set of stairs. The sun was already set and the only light source was from inside the gym.

I looked down beside the stairs and saw at least 15 pairs of school shoes. But all I could hear was one person running around the gym.

They all must be taking a brake, I bet Hinata and Kageyama are on the court still at it.

I softly giggled to myself. Asahi has never skipped class to practice volleyball, I'm surprised Daichi let him and the other skip class.

I was already happy Asahi finally took a step back and just did something he wanted to for once, no matter the consequence.

I placed my hand on the door handle, a smile still plastered on my lips.

The sound of volleyballs being hit across the court was replaced with a sound that sounded like a watermelon being smashed across the floor.

"Are you guys-" I spoke loudly as I tugged the door to the side "-Smashing watermelons?"

My eyes widened as far as they could go, my jaw dropped down and my heart immediately started to beat quickly.

My eyes scanned the scene in front of me.

Blood.

So.

Much.

Blood.

A pile of headless bodies laid in a pool of crimson blood. The outfits on them were stained a dark red, almost looking black. Across the court laid decapitated heads all over the pine wood floor.

Shoyo~chan.

Tobio~chan.

Tsukishima~Chan.

Yamaguchi.

Daichi.

Noya.

They're all gone.

Suga.

Kiyoko.

Yachi.

Sensi Ukai.

Every one of my friends, everyone I looked up to-

Gone.

They're all gone.

"Y/n" The way he said my name so simply, so calmly, it made my body tremble harder.

"What did you do?" My breathing started to quicken. "Asahi, what did you do?"

I looked up from the bodies at the brunette. Blood covered his uniform and skin.

"They weren't as nice as they seemed. They were bad people" He plainly spoke.

I looked away from him once more to inspect the scene again. I kept looking it over and over, hoping it would change.

"You killed them" I felt my stomach turn as I spoke.

"It's not that big of a deal" Asahi huffed.

I was angry, furious. I wanted to scream, kick, punch. I wanted to have a tantrum and just scream my head off as if I was a little girl who wanted a barbie her parents said she couldn't get.

I tightly clenched my left hand hoping to focus on my hand instead of the waves of nausea in my throat.

"Just come here Y/n" Asahi smiled.

"No" I shook my head and took a step back.

"Y/n" His voice quickly went down as his eyes grew with something I've never seen before. "I'm not going to hurt you"

"Please" I gasped for air "Stay away from me"

My voice was soft and raspy. I was so wrapped in fear I couldn't raise my voice.

I held my right hand out in front of me as I stepped backwards. My left hand was stretched out behind me, searching for the open door.

"I'm not going to hurt you Y/n" Asahi's pace quickened as I reached the door. "Y/n don't you leave me"

I was about to give in and jump into his arms. But the scene around me pulled me back into reality. I knew something in him wasn't him anymore.

I almost fell backwards off the front step but I quickly caught myself and turned around to the school doors a few feet ahead of me.

"Help!" I cried out in fear "help me please!"

I quickly made it to the doors but before I could lay a finger on the handle two arms wrapped around my body. A hand cover my mouth as the other arm picked me up. It was so simple for him to restrain me.

"Shit" Asahi mumbled under his breath.

He quickly brought us back inside the gym. He let go of me, sending my down to the ground with a thump. He quickly closed and locked the doors behind us.

"No no no" I could feel my stomach turning as the stench of my friends carcasses laid just a few feet from me.

I sat on my knees with my hands holding my upper body up. I squeezed my eyes shut to try to stop crying or hopefully wake up from this nightmare.

"Just listen to me" Asahi placed his hand on my shoulder.

"Don't touch me!" I cried out "you're a monster!"

I twisted my body to the right to get away from his grip. My sweaty hands slipped on the gym flooring as I tried to get away.

"I'm not a monster" Asahi stood up straight, his body towering over mine.

"You should look at yourself!" I sobbed "How are you okay? Look what you did!"

Asahi just looked down at me with a cold stare. Maybe I shouldn't have said anything. I should have kept quiet.

"I thought you would have understood" He blandly spoke

"Do you not feel anything? No remorse? Sadness?"

He shook his head softly side to side.

"Y/n, I love you. I did this for you"

My eyes widened bigger, my mouth gaped open.

"You're fucking crazy"

"I should have known... you didn't feel the same"

Clink

The sound of a pocket knife clinked. Asahi stepped towards me and squatted down in front of me.

"Please don't hurt me" I muttered under my breath

"I'd never hurt you"

He held the knife to his own throat before instantly slashing it across his skin. His blood sprayed out over my face. My eyes and mouth squeezed shut but not before the taste of crimson coated my tongue.

I heard a thud in front of me, I knew it was Asahi's limp body. I turned to my right and instantly threw up. My mind raced as I felt my lunch resurface.
